It would be kind of neat if it was the oft-rumored '40k advanced' ruleset that was whispered about aeons ago. Y haven't heard anyone mention that idea, and it would (in a way) fit the "everything is a lie" concept if it's essentially new rules for the existing setting. It is also a 'new game' in a way, and I don't think they've really done that before (New rules for existing models) unless you're counting the WHFB Skirmish push.
I'm doubtful of GW's ability to develop a full rule set that is flexible enough to fill this role in complete silence, however.
Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

Doesn't the link to the Chaos In The Old World information belong in the Chaos In The Old World thread? This is the Space Hulk, ahem, I mean Mystery Box thread.

I know you can do an approximation of the Indomitable Fortress using standard PS stuff, but I'm talking about the actual kit they showed in the PS book.
And yes, the compatabilty with current turrets is beyond awesome. You can take one of the ground-based Lascannons or Quad-Cannons and swap them with any Razorback TL-Las, HB or Assault Cannon. Instant Tarantulas!!!
Sorry to bug you about it..I read that the Dark Angels one in the book was scratchbuilt.
If it's something that has never been done before and is not connected to any of the other races - it's definately not Space Hulk.
I suspect it might be a totally new race for one of the games.

Probably Nurgle, Africa has the lock on that.

I use Zap Brannigan's art of war and try to jam enough wreckage in their main cannon so it won't work.
Has GW redone the old Mega Paint Set with the new paints? That would actually make for a nice holiday gift item, and would make sense as a one-off product.

Imagine if fragmentation grenades were actually LETHAL.
You mean like 2nd edition 40K? If they're going to do an 'advanced' version, my guess is a repackaged 2nd edition rulebook/Necromunda rules. If that's the case, then it's not the mystery box, as that's been done before.
Btw, before you get all giddy about something like that, that system doesn't work too well with more than a dozen or so models per side, especially if they implement things like smoke, plasma, and blind grenades again.

I am thinking chaos codex that is totally balanced, has daemons & all legion options with rules that add flavor whilst being balanced. Even options for lost and the damned.
Maybe I am dreaming to much.
2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

Good save.)
....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.
Staff in Australia have been ordered not to speculate with customers what the mystery box is. They've also been specifically told not to discuss Space Hulk on threat of dismissal if it turns out to be Space Hulk.
I can just see the meeting now:
GW Sales Manager: The first rule of the mystery box is you do not talk about the mystery box! The second rule of the mystery box is that you do not talk about the mystery box.
