Why? What it is is going to be announced Aug 17th, it's not released until September.

It is going to be announced next weekend at Games Day Germany. GW has already promoted that unveiling. After that it will be all over the Internet.

hhe ^^ you do realise that if it is spacehulk its not gonna be a hit like the first one? i mean, all these new super special plastic bits n' pieces that will make it fancy are gonna cost money. imagine how much this game will cost? anything from 30 to 50 quid is my guess. i mean it will be awsome and i guess ill buy it for the tyranids (and i suppose the termies) but it wont be a hge hit.

ofc it might not be space hulk but instead the trolls in the pantry game GW indorsed eons ago ^^

Not quite sure how they are doing it yet. I've heard at times that you can pre-order off their website. Other rumors have been only actual GW stores. I was told that I would be able to get them for my independent game stores. (And no hints were given about what it is, just that I'll be able to get the 'mystery box'. Guess we'll know in a week.

Boxed games like Space Hulk and Advanced Space Crusade circa 1990 cost about $50 US. Expansion sets were $35 US (e.g., Dark Millenium for 2nd Edition 40K in 1993). Five to seven years later boxed game prices had crept up to $75 and then $85. The 3rd Edition 40K boxed set cost $85 when it was replaced by the Battle For Macragge starter set that initially cost $45 US.

If this Mystery Box is a boxed game, Space Hulk (or not), one can expect that it will cost at least as much as it would have ten years ago and perhaps more. In other words, don't be surprised if it costs at least $75 to $85 US or even more.

That would be pretty consistent with what I was saying just above. Five days to go till the big reveal!

The GW employee who claimed to have actually seen the product in China said it isn't Space Hulk as well.

If it does turn out to be Space Hulk I will rub their lying in their faces though.

It's not Space Hulk.

It's a game called Hulks in Space. It comes with 10 Space Infantry and 20 Chromosome Thieves, as well as a full set of Space Corridors and Industrial Towers.

Well sence everything we've been told is a lie that includes that statement so the mystery box could be anything. so this will be my last post about trying to figure out what it is.

Um, it wasn't quite as simple as that.

GW HAS hyped this a bit more than that, what with the "never been done before", "limted quantities, when they're gone they're gone!" and some strange "We're droppin' the bomb on the 16th" talk...

That's a tad more than "Stay tuned for...{yawn]...some odd release at GD Germany."

Dropping the bomb thing...

Possibly a limited edition Deathstrike model?
