These guys need to put out some sort of playing system. They easily look far better than anything GW has put out.

I actually kind of like the paint job. There's a certain amount of realism to it.
I'm just not a bog fan of the actualy model.

There have been models (even excluding those showing their testicles) that I haven't really liked. Even those models were well done... they just didn't "call out" to me. This is the first model that I've not been impressed with the quality on.

Still a fan, though!

I actually like it myself. It reminds me more of those ancient amphibians on things like Walking with Dinosaurs than a Lizard like Hydra which definitely brings home the eldritch abomination/ancient fiend lineage. It also looks like how I've seen a lot of art for the Nernean Hydra Hercules bashed in.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

The Hydra is actually not a new release, it was released the same month as Euryalia about 3 months ago now, I think someone just re-posted it in this thread a couple of days ago. Flint-Fang is our latest release and he'll be followed by Ophias (a Gorgon so his lower half is reptilian he's genital free ) next month.

I like the sound of a Gorgon, are you going to do a female version (Medusa) as well?

Well, fortunately some flush cutters or a greenstuff loincloth with take care of the issue for you.

You might find that your abomination suddenly has an unquenchable desire for chocolate, however.

Edit: meant to add that I really like the model as a less over the top rendition of the HPA or something similar. Granted, I like most of the different abomination rat type things I have seen, but it is good to see one that is relatively understated, just a big scary monster.

So i bought the Rose of ker-ys witchling model today. Can't wait to paint it. I'm really liking the models this company is putting out. I still cant understand why people get bent out of shape over testicles on a model, i don't think theres anything wrong with a little realism.

First Monday of the month sees the previews for the following month's BaneLord releases and also the chance to pre-order them!

September's releases see Ornung the Bone Orc Shaman sculpted by Steve Buddle (who has since gone on to work at GW so this will be his only piece for us) and the eagerly anticipated Nagausith sculpted by the highly rated Mikh himself! Mikh only works on a few sculpts per year so we're really pleased to have him working on our range. Rumour has it he's turning his hand to a BaneBeast soon................

These guys can be pre-ordered here http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/index.php?act=cat&cre=min-blg-bnl and until midnight the 8th August there's the opportunity to save 20% on all BaneLegions releases (inc these pre-orders!) using our current voucher code - more info here http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/index.php?act=new&ref=220

On Friday we'll be previewing Ophius the Gorgon Lord, so keep your eyes peeled!

Alternatively, you could make them a separate piece that could be added or not to a model during assembly or left off.

Very nice minis, both! Nothing particularly stunning, but both solid.

I would actually love to see a BaneLord take on a Vampire Count. I've been leaning on AoW for one as well, but I think - having seen the Dark Elf - that you guys could do a stellar job with it.

Loving the big monsters in this thread... apparently I'll have lots of options if I decide to get more big stompy things (which I probably won't, as that's about all I've gotten so far and am looking for a change in playstyle, but still awesome).

Nice Black Elf - I might have to get one when/if AoW gets around to releasing their plastic Dark Elves.

The Shaman would make a nice Orc Necromancer.

We have a Vampire Lord planned for later in the year Oct. Remy Tremblay (the same guy that sculpted our Vagrant Knight) has sculpted him and he's done a great job. He will be previewed the month before release, 1st Mon of the month as usual.

In fact, October will see us release 4 BaneLords!
