They don't physically have the models in their possession, GW probably sent them pictures and said "don't actually show these until they're released, just hint about them,"

ah... ok... so that's deceptive advertising...

It seems obvious to me that they're on good terms with GW or at least someone from GW and are allowed access. When you think about it, it's a good arrangement. If you care about 'leaks' you get them, thinly veiled as they are.

I agree. I will probably use it as the head for my looted Voltron/Power Rangers megagargant I am making.

The Stormtalon is horrible. It doesn't look like it belongs with the rest of the SM line. The first thing that came to mind when I saw it was Mantic's Warpath. It looks exactly like something Mantic would produce for their game. It wants to be 40k but it just fails on so many levels.

They wouldn't get leaks if they showed us stuff before it came out at a decent time. Why is it ok to showcase a videogame or movie several years out but not ok for a gw to do it with their models more than a week in advance?

I like the look of the Talon. if my BA can take them as fast attack i'll get 2 or 3 when they come out.

Here's hoping the weapons are easily magnetized

Not copyright images I guess. To be honest I'd rather have waited for the proper pics though. The Ork stuff just looks like every Ork fighta bomma released by forgeworld for the last decade or so.

Waow stormtalon can be attached to a deep striking unit!...thats awesome and hinting that a stormtalon cannot be attached to another storm talon that deep strikes. Meaning they can likely also deep strike on their own.

Guessing it only has 11 Armour all round. But like necrons packs a nasty bite.

yep. talon looks a bit odd. although think pic oversized underslung gun. forgeworlds armoured landspeeder would have been a better choice. i think the hint of 6ed harder to shoot fast things is going to be the only way to keep birds flying either that or our boards are going to start getting masive terrain on them. which with all the latest fantasy terrain isnt such a big leap

Let me take a look - I ran the Vendetta (and other IG units) vs. AV 14 when the IG codex came out. I might be able to do a rough comparison to that.

Assuming:
+1 BS for Hoverstrike
155 pts w/ TL Lascannon and Typhoon ML

I'm doing this in a rush, so my numbers may not be correct, but I get 0.081 AV 14 kills/turn. Compare this to a Vendetta which I have in my notes kills 0.096 AV 14/turn. Vendetta is probably cheaper, so the Vendetta is still better.

Considering that most of the vehicles you're seeing these days, though, are AV 11 and 12, I don't think that's necessarily the best yardstick by which to measure it. That said, I think it's still going to be points inefficient compared to Rifleman dreads and ML Devs. If you want to kill AV 14, melta is still the way to go.

thats not true. The valkyrie and the stormraven to some degree make sense. The Valk is basically a Hind helicopter gunship with wings in a sci fi setting. The stormraven is a mini Tbird which we all know and love. This, this looks like what DBM said, a valk and a vulture matting and had a offspring. Add in the gaint underslung chaingun (assault cannon?) and you got a lot of weight flying about that doesnt make sense.

Thats what i see this to be. Its like a A-10 warthog. Good at busting AV and close air support. I honestly believe it could have been done better but if that is the real design then we'll just have to get use to it.

The... whatever it's called... is awful. I mean, I really dislike the Chibi-Hawk, but there are angles where it looks fine. This just looks bad from start to finish. What the feth were they thinking? I have no issue with the Necron one (other than any I owned wouldn't have crew). And Orks are Orks are Orks. They can bang anything together to make it look Orky.
