It looks like they took the ass-end of a stormraven and crunched it into the business-end of a valkyrie. In short, it looks like they simply removed the middle bulk of the stormraven.

thats not true. The valkyrie and the stormraven to some degree make sense. The Valk is basically a Hind helicopter gunship with wings in a sci fi setting. The stormraven is a mini Tbird which we all know and love. This, this looks like what DBM said, a valk and a vulture matting and had a offspring. Add in the gaint underslung chaingun (assault cannon?) and you got a lot of weight flying about that doesnt make sense.

Thats what i see this to be. Its like a A-10 warthog. Good at busting AV and close air support. I honestly believe it could have been done better but if that is the real design then we'll just have to get use to it.

I don't want to get OT and debate here but the Valk's downward thrusters are way to small to produce enough lift to sustain VTOL type flight, and the lack of airfoil wings would stop it from flying forward anyway. The Stormraven's center of gravity is way far forward of the wings, if it could achieve lift it would end up doing front flips, despite it being wholly unaerodynamic

The chibihawk, just like the T-Hawk uses suspension plates bolted to the bottom of the craft.

I'm calling it now: 6th ed will be all about Flier spam instead of ground mech spam.

As much as I hate the look, that SM flier actually looks more flight capable than any of the current GW fliers aside from the DE one. Aside from the two big main engines that look like they rotate ala the V-22 Osprey, it also has two big thrusters on the bottom, and possibly one in the front. Compared to the Chibi Hawk and Valk, whose wings look like they provide about as much lift as a steel I-Beam welded to the side, and thrusters that look like they could barely lift a toilet seat, much less an aircraft, this thing actually makes more sense if you look at it in a more helicopter-styled flight.


Still looks completely out of place though.

Well Red does go faster. How come Red makes vehciles faster? It just does. Like how come can a Termintor move, or how come SM never run out of ammo and they never reload?

Hmm, knew what both the ork and Necron fliers would look like. Was not expecting the SM vehicle to look so much like a fish but I shall wait to see real pics, not just a sketch. Chances are these pics were "leaked" for GW to get an idea of what we thought anyway!

That was really terrible. I stopped watching when they started showing those arm wrestling videos. The only thing that would make those sketches worse would have been sitting through a few hours of the show first.

Huge slams on Dark Eldar out of nowhere! Hard for them to criticize when they think a venom has Aerial Assault and that a supersonic Bomma will only be able to move 12" and use its bomb.
I liked the idea of the Dakka fighter- seems more effective than a Punisher anyways.

I hate everyone who has complained about it... Just kidding. I actually like it. I think an actual model will look more marine and generally better than the picture. That picture gives it a Starcraft sort of look by virtue of the softer edges over the common over proportions used by that and 40k. I hate that comparison but I feel it's justified.

This thing to me provides the same sort of imagery a giant jump pack with a gun would. That to me is very Space Marine. That said, the designs weakness is the lack of winglets and apparent landing gear that at leave give us plausible suspension of disbelief to pretend it could work.

Well... the Chibi-Hawk had no fuselage, so I can only assume that to maintain balance the Stormtalon will have no wings/engines.

The Storm Talon is a major disappointment so far. I've got no interest in the love child of a land speeder and a predator. If it can't hold troops I won't buy it.

Well.. if you'd quiet your seething hatred for just a moment ( ), look up a bit in the thread - the last time they showed the Necron drawings, the final article looked almost identical.

So, at least we have some idea of what the final model is.

I am underwhelmed by the space marine plane. Oh well if it turns ot to be accurate I will probably use Vulture instead.
