Thanks gobert, maybe one day your elves can shoot my goblins to death

Got the sword orcs clothes blocked in and shaded, I think it's just highlights, swords, eyes and teeth left so they shouldn't be too far off.

The details is softer on these old orcs than on the gobbos, so less fun over all but I still love them!

Thanks,

Looking good MegaDave, it’s always good to see another’s process.

My Elves’ have a poor history against gobbos, losing heavily to my mate as a teenager… Eltharion did some good stomping of a mega unit of spearmen though

Hah, I have a different memory from my youth, Gobert. Back when I first heard of warhammer, my first demo game I wanted to play as the goblins and got trounced by the elves. Later in the day I came back for a 2nd demo, played the goblins again and got crushed.

Went right home, begged my parents for the game, still playing 25 years later.

Got the orc warriors done, started work on their Shields and then onto the archers.

I'm nearing the light at the end of the tunnel, once the archers are finished it's the skaven and then the heros, and that will complete the box!

Just gotta get done with my final next week...

Thanks,

MegaDave

Great looking army. I really like your terrain and the land raider. Congrats on the Life stuff too.

Thanks Styrofoam! Yeah, this summer I'm going to try and get a lot of painting done as it turns out we've now got a baby hobbyist due in October, so gotta get as much done now as I can!

Orc shields are finished, and I got some colors blocked out on the archers.

Archers need a little more color, a shade and highlight and all the greenskins will be done.

Thanks,

Congrats on the imminent(ish) arrival, hopefully the sleepless nights won’t stop the hobby too much.

Lovely orcses! I’m still amazed that a few different colours and different shields helps differentiate them really well. The short bois are looking good already in the background.

It doesn't count as thread necromancy if it's your own thread and you picked up where you left off right?

How long has it been since I picked up a brush...*checks previous post* ...almost two years?!

Yeah, the honey-do list with the house, new job and new kid knocked me out for a while, but I got an hour of painting in the other night!

I managed to paint the hats and belts of the orc archers, not that you can really see a difference from the older photos.

I also had somewhere in the last two years assembled a few models that were a Christmas gift, and I got them sprayed gray and painted their bases brown, riveting I know

Hopefully I can get some more regular painting in, but the kid doesn't like to sleep much and I don't have a dedicated space at the moment.

Also I'm going to have easier access going forward since I decided to store my paints and curent project in the fireplace next to the bigscreen tv...

Seems...risky?

Good to see you back! Hope it isn't too long before you are painting regularly again.

It definitely doesn’t count as thread necromancy! Good to see you back MegaDave!
Those Orcs are looking fantastic, fingers crossed that we get to see them finished. Hopefully they don’t go up in flames

Well only an 8 month hiatus this time, I think I'm getting better?

The fireplace storage got vetoed as I was tasked to paint the entire thing white, and we now have a decorative candle holder in there instead.

I had the day off and during the kiddos nap time I managed to get a basecoat on the obliterators, while finishing the pouches, quivers and arrows on the archers.

I actually have a free weekend so I'm hoping I can get the archers finished soon!

Thanks guys, glad to be painting again even though it's been hard getting my eyes readjusted!

Managed to finish the orc archers, they just need a clear coat tomorrow but otherwise they're done!

Probably continue with the obliterators for now, but I may get the skaven out and start basecoating them.

Or maybe I'll dissappear for another year, who knows these days!

Thanks,

Love all of the different colours on your Orcs, helps to hide the monopose for sure. Hopefully it’s the start of a long posting stint, I want to see those Obliteratora AND Skaven

Well I brought the Skaven upstairs, so hopefully they'll get paint on them soon.

Got a little bit done on the oblits, but for me that's pretty good!

Skin was built up a few layers, have to go back and paint all the metal bits.

I hate painting these things almost as much as I hated putting them together!

Thanks,

They may be a pain to paint and put together, but they’re looking good so far. That skin looks nice and sore
