what is the funniest thing that has happened to you while doing anything related to 40k?

for me, demolition charge landing on the veteran guardsman that threw it.

Eight inch plasma cannon scatter...right onto the Chapter Master.

Regular Guardsman assaulting CHAOS termies and winning the assault, then running them down and sweeping them. My friend was less than pleased.

When the dark angels codex was released, my flgs held a game where termies and guard were divvied up between players. I was guard.

Guard were recyclable, so I threw the same guardsman at the same termie for 4 turns before killing it in HtH.

Was so proud.

10 BA Terminators vs 30 Grots....at the end of the Grot shooting (all in range) 1 BA Terminator standing.... funnest thing I ever saw in 40K.

in 4th ed i had a Predator tank next to a SM captain.

Captain fires his plasma pistol, Gets Hot, i rolled a 1 for his artificer armour.

my opponents shoting phase, he Railguns my Predator, he pens and rolls a 6, Predator goes nuclear and my captain fails another armour save.

Apoc game, my dread melta's his rhino and blows it up with an 8 inch blast. Not far, but wiped out all my hormagaunts, boyz, 1 nob, 4 of his marines, nearly all of my termagants, and took a wound from a warrior.

how can a rhino blow up 8" when its a D6" explosion?

Having a stompa hurl my land raider into a squad of noise marines, killing them and then it bounces off and crashed into a defiler, wrecking it.

Perfect way to feth me over.

A basilisk round scattered off the intended infantry unit and directly hit a transport. rolled a few 6s and the blast wiped out half of the unit I initially wanted to hit when it exploded along with taking the enemy commander model down a wound. Plus most of the unit in the transport got incinerated.

Best scattered shot ever!

Oh and my friends tyrant was on its last wound. Charged a unit of guardsmen. one guarsmen was left to hit back. I rolled a few 6s and the tyrant died to his bayonet. I lost but took the tyrant with me to make it a close draw .

And lastly when i first played 40k I played dark eldar. Took down an enemy dreadnought with my archon but the thing blew up in his face and killed him and what was left of his incubi.

Game of orks against nids the other day.

I took the big mek with the Shokk Attack gun cause i just love that freaking weapon. first round of the game, i take first turn. I shoot him at a carnafix. The gun got double 5s, which means my big mek is now standing in front of the Carnafix. I caused a wound, but then he killed me.

APOC Game and I had my Ork Stompa open up with it's Suppa Gattla. I bounced back and forth on three Fire Prisms. Destroyed one, wrecked another, and immobilized with main weapon detroyed on the other. The destroyed one exploded on a squad of Scorpions behind it killing 1/3. Both of us were laughing as i went back and forth at least three times on each vehicle before rolling my doubles....then I shot the def kannon and missed.

A shooty dread with no weapons left that had been immobilised, fighting in combat with a Daemon Prince for 4 turns before head butting it to death.

In 3rd ed with ordance pen 6 result - hit a land raider full of termies and a rhino full of marines - rolled 6 on both, both vehicles and squads gone with one blast from a demolisher cannon.

In a game a few years ago, I played Chaos and my mate used his beloved Cadians.'
I charged his Colonel and Command Squad (No upgrades, just 4 veterans) with Typhus.
Typhus then missed with all his attacks. 3 rounds in a row. The Colonel kills him with his Chainsword.

Next turn, I charge the same Command Squad with the remnants of a Chaos Marine squad,
consisting of 2 Marines with bolters. They hit with all their attacks, wound with all, and chase
the lone Colonel off the table. I promoted them to Chosen and gave them Power Weapons after that

My Dread and my friend's melee 'fex went through 6 assault phases beating the crap out of each other in a bunker made out of a card board cup tray from Tim Hortons. There is a picture somewhere.

Back when I played daemon-hunters in 4th,

turn 2: I had an inquisitor lord with a daemonhammer and retinue in assault with a broodlord and his genestealers. At the same time my GK dreadnought was duking it out with a combat fex.
turn 3: the genestealers "kill" my inquisitor with retinue, my dreadnough also dies the talons of a carnifex. I lay my inquisitor down and wait for my bionics roll.
turn 4: on my turn I roll a 6 the inquisitor gets up and assaults the carnifex killing it with a cavalcade of 6's. Needless to say I gave him some appropriate battle damage after the game, and he had bionics written in pen for permanent on my army list

I'm assuming your friend plays Chaos, since you can't sweep loyalist termies due to ATSKNF/Fearless.

As for me, so many to choose from. There was the Bassie first shot of the game taking out the Land Raider with SM uber-Command in it, Ordnance 6 result back then killed everything (first round of a GT). Or the two regular IG, the only ones left in their squad, assaulting the DE Archon with Incubi retinue (no charge reaction back then), winning the combat and running them down in the sweeping advance. Or the lone IG sgt standing and fighting a horde of hormogaunts from turn 2 through the end of turn 6, killing all but 2 of them.

Valkyrie killed around 500 pts of dark eldar in 1 turn. (warriors on raiders+MRP's = Big boom)

Diameter, forgot about that.

First shot of the game, my friends Falcon Grav tank shoots my Deff Dread, which has 3 DCCW's and a Skorcha. Not only was it a penetrating hit, he also immobilized it. So my Deff Dread was essentially scenery for the rest of the game as I didn't have Grot Riggers or any Meks in the army.

My brother deep striked a monolith close to two squads of space marines and bails out 12 necron warriors.
Next turn four marines died and two necrons.

My brother then fires the particle whip to cover all the marines, whilst his necrons are just on the other side of a barricade.
The shot needs a scatter roll of 12 to hit all the necrons otherwise my guys are stuffed...

I warned my brother there was a chance, and then the shot scattered missing the marines completely and killing the necrons outright!! I haven't laughed so hard in a long time

4th Ed rules here

Friend shot his Vindy at a squad. Shot missed completely and landed on his own Landraider. Inside was Mephistion and a squad of termies. Rolled Pen and rolled 6 on the chart. Good bye Landraider, Termies and Mephiston on turn 2. He lost about 750 points from his own shooting.

The best I did wa 3rd Ed. Top of turn 1. My scouts had nothing to shoot at, so the Missle launcher fires at the only Monolith on the board. Rolled a 6 to hit, 6 To glance, and a 6 to Destroy. The other guy had 2 full squads held back to come through the portal. One Rocket almost made him phase out.

i forgot to mention that the blast killed 9 of the 11 models that i lost during that game(all of which were infantry models).

My bro had 16 kroot holed up in the bottom floor of a building, so i charged my last 2 hormagaunts into them, kroot were in cover and so struck first, however i suffered 5 wounds get got 6's on 4 of them (one hormie died)

My hormagaunt lashed back killed 3 Kroot, they failed their Ld test and my lone hormagaunt ran down 13 kroot on his own!!!! Seemed like they were trying to get out of the door at the same time xD!!!!

using my friend's nurgle lash army to show him how to play it right..... every plasma overheated or scattered onto my own guys....

Hey, running down loyal Termies is impossible. They get fearless when they failed the morale check, and then they stay in cc.
But nice try.

Chaos player shooting a battle cannon at my dreadnought, scatering onto a CC next to it that was 9 berzerkers about to take the last wound off my SM commander with articicer armor, the battle cannon shot killed all the berzerkers and ddi nothing to my comander, his cannon saved my life
