Just to be nit-picky, the Pathfinder squad in Raptor8's post should have a railrifle

I don't have any really funny stories myself (that I can remember) best one I can think of is a game I had a While back where my Railguns failed pretty hard at killing my Necron opponents (I believe) only Monolith. 'Tiss been an unfunny period of time

Edit: wait I got one, me versus Demons, I have 2 full teams of Fire Warriors in rapid fire range of his freshly arrived Bloodletters. Fire the first team, opponent uses the Changeling on me. Me being unfamiliar with the Demon rules, I don't realize I can choose to simply not fire my leadership 7 Fire Warriors. So I roll, fail the test and take out most of the other Fire warrior squad who soon fail their leadership check and die. (being boxed in by Devilfish to the front and Piranha to the back, to prevent assaults) I believe it was on the next turn, a Crisis team comes down with Twin Linked Flamers and Fusion Blasters. Great position to roast those same Bloodletters, Changeling of course stops that attempt as well. The game is going downhill and I'm left with only my Crisis Shas El. As I recall it, (was a while ago) the Suit makes it halfway across the board over two turns facing Tzeench firepower and Flamers and survives to contest the objective. I think I tied tied that game.

What is so unusual about Terminators eating T'au? Grots eat T'au(and termies too )

Railrifles are AP3 and nothing else would have been a threat.

rapid fired 20 IG with first rankfire second rank fire on a unwounded keeper of secrets K.O.ed it in one round of fire from lasguns.

2 weeks lator agenst the same guy used my Chimera to ram his keeper of secrets who attempted a death or glory and failed!! splat.

a friend fired the plasmacannon on his dread, scattered right back hitting it on the back armour and destroying it.

I wounded mephiston with a heavy bolter

Nah funniest thing Ive had happen was in spearhead.
Outflanked my Baneblade with Usarker Creed, killed a ton, then apocalyptic explosioned killing A MONOLITH. AND removing a ruin leaving the entire necron warrior army in the open at the mercy of my lascannons and plasma cannons! Glorious day..part from loosing the baneblade to a chain reaction on its second 4th penetration :(

I am a new player (Blood Angels) that has only played a couple of games.

First game I ever played I had a couple of guys walking me through it. I was getting hurt pretty bad and a bunch of kroots assaulted my 5 man scout squad.

The only one left alive was my Scout Sarge, and he was about to roll around 30 die to kill him, so I told him don't even worry about it and started to pick him up off the table. One of them told me "ALWAYS ROLL" so I set him back down and he rolled.

Hand to God, 30 die and my Scout Sarge was still standing. (Then got eaten alive the next turn) I promised myself I would always field my Scouts after that and never replace them.

@ Vizion That's a pretty impressive one if I do say so myself. About the equivalent of rolling 11 ones in as many dice.

i admit i have two contenders to my former post. one was during an apoc game when my warhound lost all of it's structure points without exploding to a single meltabomb.

second happened recently. last round of a tournie which decided on whether or not i got second or first i played against my brother who had witch hunters. i had necrons. the tank that has the organ that fires d6 shots at s 8 ap 1 got 6 shots and enough glances to take out my only monolith and a warrior squad because of it.

It was one of the beginner games at the local GW (back in February) and my brother was late getting to GW. He was allowed one HQ and one Troops choice. The game is always SM vs. the rest of us.
The staff told him to just deep strike my guys into the game instead of deploying. He deployed a 19 strong squad of Stealers without scatter but his Tyranid Prime unfortunately scattered next to a LR.

His opponents ended up being 2 Dark Angel players on their 10th week of beginners (so they had one Elite Choice and one HQ each). They both had a 10 man squad of termies and before his stealers could even chew the armour of a marine they had all been shot to pieces buy 16 assault cannon shots and far too many storm bolters. By the beginning of the xenos/traitors turn all he had was the Tyranid Prime w/ rending claws.

Now this was where the fun began. First of all in the shooting phase the DA LR was immobolised and had lost all of it's weapons. He the proceeded to assault his Tyranid into the LR. He then rolled 6 for penetration, a 6 for the D3 for the Rending and a further 6 on the penetration table. This meant that his Tyranid Prime destroyed a Land Raider!!! He saw it as a great revenge for the stealer deaths.

To this day his Tyranid Prime has a LR door on it's base a memento for it's spectacular achievement. On top of that it has since destroyed 2 Rhinos and a Pred.

I laughed so hard when I saw the look on his opponents face when a Nid owned his LR even if he was on my team.

My opponents Daemon Prince shot at my dreadnought using his pykser power and promptly blew it to pieces and got wounded by the explosion.

He then moved on to my second dreadnought and shot him in the back, that too exploded, and wounded him.

Then by poor fortune my tactical squad rounded a building and using polt pistols plastered him with 6 pistol shots and he lost his two remaining wounds.

Talk about bad luck.

My Chaplain with one wound left got curbstomped by the 2 sniper drones that he assaulted.
Those rifles are pointy, you know.

Playing in a team tournament (2 vs 2), we both have orks.

My tankbustas release a bomb squig...it rolls a one, wanders over to my teammate's deff dread and blows up, tanking the dread.

When my Shas'o commander charged a squad of 20 Necron warriors with a lord w/ warscyth, won combat, proceeded to overrun the entire squad, which brought him down to less than 25% winning me the game (one of the only things I killed that game).

That guardsman FAIL .

Many years ago in 4th ed I was playing the old guard codex and I had one Sentinal I was using for Lascannon support as I played a mostly ranged guard army with only a Basilisk (back when they were good) and two Leman Russ's one Demolisher and one regular. Well I was playing DA's and my friend had four tactical squads with lascannons every turn he would shoot at least two of those lascannons at the Sentinal since it was destroying his tanks one by one with its Lascannon 1st turn he hits with both and crew shakens it, 2nd turn he misses with both, 3rd turn he hits with one and crew stuns it, 4th turn he misses with both, fifth turn he misses with both, and last turn he hits with both and only crew stuns it. We named the Sentinal God after the game because of its inability to die or get anything less than a crew shaken.

my friend playing chaos moved his deomon prince towards my dred so i shot the multi melta at it nothing
then it moves into assault once aain no damage on either side
i then i cause 1 wound
then like 2 rounds of no damage again
then 1 woundnext round so hes on his lasst wound
then he destroys my dread
gets shot at by a wholle tac squad including a multi melta and flamer also shot at by the master of the forges conversion beamer survives then is killed by my master of the forges bolt pistol

I think the funniest thing was watching a GW employee fly into the most epic high pitched nerd-rage at a very small boy who kept leaning his elbows on the game table and managed to flatten a Tyranid warrior.

Funniest 'in game' moment was probably wizzing up to my friends Predator on the first turn with a land speeder and blowing the turret off, only to have the turret fly 2D6 straight forward and flatten the land speeder.

I had quite a funny game the other day, where I managed to overrun a very unlucky Swooping Hawk Exarch on turn 2, with a Rhino. Then my marine sergeant got set on fire. And the flames just seemed to refuse to go out, but he kept making his armour save... so he spent the entire game running around in circles with his hair on fire (that's what you get for not wearing a helmet!)... Then my rhino fell through a bridge. :|

Good times.

played a game today SM/IG vs ork/CSM my las cannon heavy weapon team killed an ork nob bike in CC. another thing had happend my much disliked executioner(with multi-melta sponsons) managed to immobilized a ork wagon with its multi-meltas and had missed with its las-cannon and plasma cannon

Well, I once saw a few Dark Reapers destroy pretty much an entire army of Tau.

Me personally, my Burnas once destroyed around 20 Tactical marines, but thats actually pretty normal for them. Maybe not quite so much, but a lot.

one thing that I remember, was taking a shooting ork army. I had alot, and I mean alot of troops with pistols. then I freaking roll as many 1-4 combinations that I have ever seen in my life. It was very sad, and I never made it to assault, as the cover fire didnt even scratch the enemy armor.

yeah pretty much, he was on his last wound and he fail his inv, and this was for warptime...

A buddy of mine once stood and predicted every dice roll i made in a 6 turn game !!!!!!!

He wasn't playing and so wasn't trying to psych me out or anything .

He would just stand and say " that plasma gun will over heat " " that armour save will fail " " that one will pass " it was really spooky and started to really get to me !!

Oh and he didn't got ONE wrong !!!!!!

By the last turn i was like " I don't want to roll now " even though I won the game ... it was creepy !!!!!!!!!!1

two tac marines left in a squad, Plasma rifle and plasma cannon. a group of friendly scarabs was holding terminators in place, and managed to kill one, before dieing.

next turn, two plasma shots and a well scattered plasma cannon lands seven dead terminators

in assault, both terminators rolled ones on armour saves... so happy.

During an apocalypse game one of my opponents rolls 6,6,6 with an Imperial Guard Lascannon team to destroy my monolith (which we then remove from the table) Next turn after moving my second monolith into the exact same place as the first one was when it was destroyed my other opponent blows it up with a rail gun.

I have since destroyed that peice of carpet where the event occoured...

Sweeping advanced Ghazgull and some super nobz.

This has happend a few times but its more of a last ditch effort or it there is no better option. My hq casting gift of chaos on a fex and rolling a 6 one shotting it into a spawn.

Done it to the same fex twice. A hive tyrant. A couple SC and a deamon prince being my fav. The chaos gods are fickle granting you princelyhood one moment then down to a spawn the next.

The one that stays in my mind is where my mate was playing a plasma based SM force, and I had my Nids. Least to say my nids only got to eat half his army as the rest were burnt to crisp by thier own plasma weapon mis-fires and failed armour saves. Yup he killed half of his army by his own weapons. From what I remember most of the harder targets as well. Leaving my nids to pile in and chomp em to mulch.

Other not so funny were
:
a smal group of dire avangers with a shimmer sheild(exarch) handed his termie chaplins butt back to him. He also charged me so got the assuslt advantage.

And more recently

And 1 standard tactical SM doing the same thing to the same chaplin. Did have full squad but he charged in with 7 assualt termies and the chappy, killing off all but that guy and another squad. CC wittled down numbers on both sides till the final 2 were left. Of course that left him out in the open and we all know what happens in that situation. yeah, bullets and plenty of them. lol

And another just came to me. Same mate, we decidedto do a cammand squad, tank and commander battle. SHort story my tank died and all but 2 memebrs of the CS and the commander. I move into assualt range and lose the other2, then I charge into CC with the commancder(storm sheild and thunder hammer. Which he proceeded to symte his entire squad and commander into sludge only to be gunned down by the LR waiting 24" away. But he totally owend his command squad to I was happy.
