How do you guys think it would work out if someone wanted to convert ork bikes to carry swift claws? They just have that chopper feel to them that I think might work out well for space wolves.
Your thoughts are gold, thanks for them in advance.

That might seem a bit too orky for most people. Try using plastic rod to extend the front wheels of a normal space marine bike. I think there's tutorial floating around here for it, try checking it out.

That's a good idea, I'd be interested to see how you carry it out!
Orks are spikey, fast, reckless.....
Space Wolves are drunk, wolfish, reckless....
I think if you put a lego keg or something on some of the bikes (carrying bear) and found a way to get some totems onto the bikes, you'd have a real winner!

I think it would be really, really hard, and it would never look consistent with the Marines.

I'd say go for it, but it would take loads of work to Imperialise them up. Could look good when done though.

itd' probably be easier and look better to simply modify space marine bikes to look more orky, than for ork bikes to look more space marine.

After the orbital strikes, Thunderhawk bombardments, Whirlwinds, Vindicators, fusion and starfire and finally Battle Brothers with flamers had finished cleansing the world of all the enemies of Man, we built a monastery in the center of the largest, most radioactive impact crater. We named the planet "Tranquility", for it was very quiet now.

Alright, I'll admit that I don't own the SW codex.
But I've read my way through the Horus Heresy, and there's a good bit of participation by the Space Wolves in there - they come as close to dwarves in fantasy as anything could; they have their own special brand of beer specially manufactured on Fenris to get them drunk, bloodclaws are reckless because they are trying to impress their seniors and earn a place in the ranks of the grey hunters....
The other legions think that the space wolves are unruly, fight with pure aggression and brutality instead of discipline and precision. They decorate themselves with totems, badges, wolf pelts....
I think that the Space Wolves are about as distant from the other legions in style as anyone could be. IMHO, I think the ork bikers are a great conversion....presuming that the bikes are "wolfified."

I say go for it. The ork bike's start off looking nothing like the finished oens. Just leave the ork bits off and replace them with SM bike parts (the front piece where the bolters go). Then just add SW runes etc to them.

Thanks for the advice everybody.
@ Casper: Thanks for the practicals, I have no idea what these guys look like out of the box and your suggestions seem to make this project less of a long shot. If the ork bits come separate, this should be cake.
I'll also check out that tutorial for converting the SM bike. Thanks for that, I didn't realize that was out there.
I'll be sure to post some pics when I get this underway.

Here's what the first one looks like so far.
I am going to base him popping that wheelie. I couldn't resist my urge to model this dude with the frost axe. I tried to put the hand at an angle that appeared natural. I think I may adjust it so it points straight up toward Valhalla.
There were a few difficult parts of this conversion. Most of it was pretty straight forward but it was hard to get the SM legs on the Ork bike. They just weren't meant to fit and are to narrow. I accidentally broke them while I tried to cut them and get them to flex. The other hard part was getting the right distance between the handle bars and his arm. They bars just don't want to sit on the part of the bike where it would fit well. I had to play with it a lot. I slapped some wolf bits on that I liked. I'm wondering if they are to much. Also, I didn't include the exhaust pipes from the ork kit.
