I have a simple question; I have seen the website Wayland Games advertised on Dakka Dakka various time, and looked at it. The prices seem to be almost TOO good... suspiciously, in fact. I can't think what money they could make out of it, so my question-are they dodgy? Can they be trusted? And how do they profit? Thanks!

They are probably shifting a huge amount of stock, so they make very little on lots of purchases

They're fantastic. I do all my Purchasing through them. 20% Off is almost too good, you're right, but they're for real, sure.

no, there prices are legimate and they won't cheat you. their "in stock" item status is quite iffy though. both my orders and my friend's (who i referred to wayland) had all our items "in stock" and they still took 10-14 days (in my case) and 3 weeks (for my friend's order) to actually ship after ordering. mind you, that wouldn't necessarily stop me from ordering from them again but i wouldn't order anything that needed to get to me in less than a month (like a unit i needed for a tourney).

I'd concur with this. I've ordered (and saved!) a lot with Wayland - but I rarely have anything delivered quickly (the above times would be quick for my orders!). I have had to follow up on numerous occasions - but it has always arrived eventually.

If you can wait and love to pay shipping across the lake, go for it. I bought some raptors from them and it took a couple weeks, but whatever, I didn't need them that badly.

it's lovingly referred to as "the pond", not the lake, when referring to the body of water separating us from our former colonial overlords. if you're going for an opposite exaggeration, you've got to crank it up to 11!

They do offer very low prices (the best I can find) and the stuff does arrive but they are very very slow. If you don't mind waiting a few weeks for your models then I reccomend them. If you want the models a bit faster then you are probably better of going with another company.

I must be lucky then as I have never waited longer than a week for my stuff

Yeah you are.
It's been nearly two and a half weeks and they still haven't even processed my order. After contacting them they told me they don't even have the stuff in stock yet.
Ah well the prices almost make up for it (although next time I am going with maelstrom).

I've used them a few times.
Delays shipping to Oz are normal - two weeks is average (hell, local GW takes up to a week in the same city, so two weeks from OS is fine).
Good deals - especially compared to local GW RRP.
After shipping, we pay about 60% of local rrp.

I'll vouch for 'em too - back before one of the price hikes (and when the US dollar was doing well vs the British pound), I ended up buying roughly 3 of every IG vehicle and saved TONS of money... for every $100 you'd spend (at the time, at least) they'd give you another discount.
Really, the shipping was worth the savings at the time. If I was giving ANY advice, it'd be to wait until you hear the US dollar rising and the pound decreasing in value - makes all the difference in the world.

They're good. I ordered my whole terminator army from them. When exchange rates are favorable, you can get extremely good deals.

I had a Maelstrom order that was processing for 3 weeks, and then another which took 4 days to arrive. If Wayland does anywhere near the kind of business Maelstrom does (3000+ orders a week), then this is to be expected. And I've used Wayland a couple of times. No issues with them at all.

I've ordered from Wayland a few times, no problem with most of the orders but the wait time on the Battlfoam order I completed in March is ludicrous. It still hasn't arrived and I've had to contact them myself to chase it up, not once have they contacted me. Considering it's a pack1520 IG insert which cost £118 I'm not particularly impressed with their service in this case.
