Hot off the injection press is the first test shot of the Conquistadors main frame. This is a T1 meaning it's taken from the very first shots after the mold is completed. There are sometimes (although not always) small adjustments that need to be made and it will go back onto the mill to fix any issues before reaching the T2 and final stage which should be in a couple days. The other frame from this set should be wrapping up shortly as well. The box is getting sorted now also and we aren't too far off from having these in production now.

Looking great. What a densely packed sprue!
This should make historical fans happy, as well as people who would like to do an estalian force for Warhammer.
Many of the parts and poses give me nostalgic flashback to the GW plastic imperials twenty years ago.

What are the bits which look kind of like large felling axe heads?

Yes, having looked at some of the old previews, that seems to be what they are.
This looks like a really impressive kit. Masses of options, lots of character, good sculpts. Can't think of any real use for them myself, but might pick up some just to paint.

I guarantee you I will happily make an Empire force with these miniatures and never once feel the need to justify them as Estalian mercenaries. They fit Empire fine.

That's one hell of sprue! So many good kits coming from WGA!

The only thing that's lacking is big hats.

I love me some big hats. Fortunately, I have a bits box up to the task.

All that's needed is sculpting on some nice plumes for the leaders, and it should make for a pretty cool force.

Kinda makes me wish they had come out with both cannon fodder boxes at the same time so I could have mix and matched my preorder.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

That feels like way way more heads than the first one.

First one had two choices of basic gun for everyone, right? This one only seems to only have one and more cool bitz instead.

I'm digging the extra cannon fodder sculpts and since all weapons work you should be able to get a decent amount of variety.

Do you think the arms between kits could be swapped? Between that and the Death Fields sprue, there's a potential for a great army.

I need a box of both Cannon Fodders when the ladies become available.

EDIT: I need to clarify; are the arms on both boxes the same proportions to be swapped seamlessly?

Very impressed with those new canon fodder sculpts. My only objections are that I don't like the support weapon (never a fan of that grip style and I think it looks too fancy for them; would have preferred grenade launcher, flamethrower, recoilless rifle, LMG, or similar low-tech option) and I'd have preferred it if the knives were the same as the bayonets.

Looks like it.

From the announcement: "All the arms in this set can also be used with the existing Cannon Fodder set to add even more variety to your army."

Yeah, I'd prefer if they had long straight bayonets too. Current ones kinda bother me, curved knife is not that good at stabbing yet they are being held in stabbing, not slashing stance. And maybe 1 not-power-sword or make one of the cyber arms a bit beefier so it could be not-power-fist?

The original had more variety, no? Helmets/hats/bald but also sci-fi space helmet?

Since they're not yet finalized, chance they might just switch those knives out to be the same as bayonets.

That's right. Instead of bare heads with hairdos, it was the fully enclosed astronaut helmet. So same number of heads approximately.

Now if only the male Cannon Fodder would get out of shipping limbo! It's at an Atlanta rail yard at least according to the WGA blog.

A hint for a future Death Fields set? Which Russians have been lifted for sport?

I agree that the knife should be the bayonet.

And, I am disappointed that they moved away from the spacesuit style… it would have been cool to have included big environmental backpacks in this set to mix and match with the other set. That way you could have some in gear for the void and others in gear for inside ships/stations and planetside.

But it is good to see more non-cheesecake female combatant minis becoming available.

Someone also mentioned the jumpsuit is perfect for Vault Dwellers.

I guess the spacesuit helmets will fit the females just as well, so no need to repeat them here.
Together with the accessory sprue, this gives quite a lot of options!
Not so convinced with the unisex arms though... female arms are quite slimmer than male ones and the bodies reflect that. Looking at the frostgrave soldiers I am happy each gender has it's own kind of limbs.

Yeah, i can definitely see the similarities in font, style, design etc.

Hopefully not. I agree there are similarities, but they have sprue shots and have sent them out to a couple of reviewers, so while there is still the chance that it is some sort of long con and Tony Reidy is involved, it seems unlikely.

Additionally, the sprues look like they come from the WGF factory, and I can't imagine those guys working with Tony again in any capacity.

No, wargames Atlantic had no connection to wargames factory. This had been an ongoing question that has been answered repeatedly.

Stormcast eternals

I don't see how you could run WGA into the ground at this point.
