In following the 40k thread I'd like to start the Fantasy beat this unit thread

the rules
-Post a unit that you believe is statistically capable of beating the previous posts more than 50% of the time
-Assume normal set up (I.E. 24" apart)
-your unit should not be more than a few points over that of the previous. (kudos for lower points)

Against the slann and temple guard: a large unit of dragon princes, with noble in dragon armor (all of them immune to flaming attacks )

This and the fact that they still loose. The slann is ethreal, and the TG can still attack with normal attacks.

The problem with these threads and magic is that there is a good chance that the wizard will blow himself up (or fail to cast) and take at least part of his unit with him...or are we assuming everything goes to plan?

i think fate weaver could do it single handed, 20 inch move can keep him out of charge range while within magic range, just depends if he blows himself up as wizards do nowadays, but can re roll one D6 a turn "hmm double six i'll reroll one and live!!"

asuming 7 magic dice a turn it'll take a while, but it will happen

up to ninty can make one rank on a 6 foot wide board and up to 15 ranks can fit in 12 inch deployment so it's be anywhere from 90 x 3 to 17 x 15 with a few empty slots at the back


also you need some slings on that unit or a flyer should just dance around them, so an extra 175 points

90% sure that the limit for IGs is 3-16.

Ignoring that though:

40xChaos Chosen with Mark of Tzeentch, Halberds, Full Command, Terror Banner, Champ has Favor of the Gods.

Causes Terror(Fear tests for IGs), Extremely good chance of having +3 ward and stubborn(if the don't have it, then they will have either +1S or +1A instead, still good VS IGs).

Well, I'd argue whether 2 giants could actually take that chosen unit, but meh.
