I think the Skinks may win that one. They'd keep out of initial line of sight to prevent from being charged and you'll shoot on average 3-4 of them a turn. Poison doesn't care much about your toughness.

Edit: Maybe not, though. That slaughtermaster sure is tough.

Vampire Lord - spectral form, frostblade.

WS7, S5, A4, ethereal and single wound slays models outright regardless of number of wounds.

350ish (can't remember point cost for spectral form)

The army book and FAQ seem to agree with you.

Not for long

Chaos Lord
Crimson Armor of Dhagon(Yeah, I'm sure I'm spelling it wrong), Axe of Khorne, Other Trickster's Shard, Shield, Barded Chaos Steed

I believe that comes to 344 Points. +1 armor save, Immune to KB and wounds are not multiplied, 5 S6 attacks with KB, and re-roll successful wards.

Is that too much? I couldn't find anything else that could really take it. Oldbloods are such a pain at their cast because of their great stats and really high scaly skin. This sucker cost me a 1k tournament:

OldBlood
Armor of Destiny, Dawnstone, Burning Blade, Shield

Re-rollable +1 armor save and +4 ward. I murdered the rest of his army, but there was nothing I could do to kill that SoaB out of the watch-tower.

I think this is the perfect time for the unkillable lord!

Dreadlord - Pendant of khaeleth, heavy armor, sea dragon cloak, enchanted shield, dawnstone, crimson death.
248 pts

2+ armor save with rerolls, reverse ward save, and 4 S6 attacks with hatred.

EDIT: Could put him on a cold one, drop the enchanted shield, take a regular shield and take the other trickster's shard, just for good measure.

Then it's 1+ rerollable armor save, reverse ward, 4 S6 attacks and 1 S4 attack, forcing rerolls on successful ward saves.

A naked skaven warlord leading 79 skavenslaves in horde formation from the units edge, so he's hard to reach, should plink through him eventually, yay LD 10 steadfast.

Not too sure about that, remember max of 6 turns, 12 close combat phases. 9 slaves attack each time, with 5s to hit that's 3, 4s to wound (they are St3 right?) thats 1.5, rounded up to 2. 2 wounds a turn is pretty much a guarantee on a rerollable 1+, let alone the reverse 3- (which in theory is the same as a 4+). I think he could stand 12 rounds of that...there's a better chance the rats will fail that steadfast sooner or later.

Yes thats also 12 LD tests on you tho since you have no ranks, at LD 10 that would be 2 fails for 12 combat phases, unless you manage to never fail to wound with all your attacks which with 4 3+/2+ and 1 3+/3+ attacks is on average not guaranteed, especially if i drop one slave for a musician .

Not necessarily, your max res is 3, for three ranks. With 4 attacks at S6, there's a good chance of inflicting 4 wounds, causing the rats to test.

Edit: You know what you're right.
Instead i put forward a cheiftain BSB with war banner and 70 slaves (still in horde) and a musician=247pts
If all your attacks kill we end up even but i have a musician

There is no way you are winning on static alone. The Tyrant has 6 S5 attacks at WS10 and a stomp a S5. You only have 3 ranks and there is no freaking way you are causing wounds needing 5s to hit, 6s to wound, and re-roll successful wounds.

Although that Tyrant currently has 15 points too many in magic items, and the worst you can hit on without modifiers is 5s(not 6s). Just lose the wyrdstone necklace and it's fine.

I win by having the warbanner BSB for a static of 5 and a muso, two failed wounds on that tyrant and i win the combat.

lets see how you would get those 2 wounds.

WS10 vs really low skaven. 5+ to hit.

if your 70 skaven are 5 wide that is 9 attacks plus the BSBs 3 attacks. 12 attacks.

4 hit statistically.

.66666 chance of a wound.

add in a forced reroll of 6s.

the final number is you have 1/9 chance of causing a wound with 12 attacks.

the Tyrants attacks are as follows.

6 attacks, 3+ to hit.

4 hits, 2+ to wound.

3.33333 wounds

Stomp at Str5

.833333 wounds

average is 4 dead skaven per round of combat.

yeah the skaven win combat by 1 each round, but the tyrant is "Stupid" and therefore "Immune to Psycology"

he auto-passes his break test each round and slowely grinds you down to where you are no longer winning and eventually kill them all. did i mention the fear test each round?

you will statistically need 9 rounds of combat to cause 1 wound. there are only 12 rounds in a game assuming we start in CC and the tyrant has 5 total wounds. it would take 45 rounds of combat to kill him and he would kill the skaven first needing only 18 rounds to wipe 71 skaven.

So its a draw cuz at the end both units still live, i cant break/kill you, and you certainly cant kill 70 models and will have a hard time breaking LD 9 rerollable.
There really are better ways to get rid of huge blocks than a lone character.

I still don't think you beat my dreadlord, as relying on him to fail a LD 10 test isn't really "winning."

But I'll give you I won't beat that unit...

How about a hydra? He'll punk them continually until they break?
