Now, let's see if i remember how to upload images properly.. interesting interesting.

As per regular order I forget to haul out the camera until I am halfway done, enthusiasm and that nasty virus known as 'inspiration' getting the better of me I am afraid.
In any case this little thing is intended to go with my Raven Guard army once it's finished and painted, and yes yes I know there are no valid rules for such a thing but I plan to use the Forge World rules for the new Assult Ram for this little thing, friendly games and all that so it will not pose a problem.. besides I need something interesting to put on the landingpad if that piece of terrain shows up..

Feedback would be much appreciated. =)

Now.. if this works as intended this -should- be the basic hull with wings attached.
Fairly simple so far, the nose is simply the Valkyrie's transport compartment with a box-shaped hull made from four sheets of plasticard extended from the valkyrie part.
Wings are not converted and just glued onto the hull as they are, the valkyrie engines attached where the wing meets the hull, the small canard wings at the nose are from the SM Drop Pod kit as you can see, I had one used for spare parts and was too lazy to scratch-build the canard wings from plasticard.

Ah, thank you very much good sir, and as always a solution just generates a new problem.
Heh.. this right here Ladies and Gentlemen is just why I usually never bother to post my work.. Me+Computor / Server = Catastrophic Circuit Meltdowns. ^^

Side view of the picture in first post, obviously figured out the little problem with the picture ^^

Now, technical difficulties sorted out and everything...

work progresses: Positioning of Cockpit and dorsal airintakes for the main engine.
intakes made from the Valkyrie's tailbooms, cut to an appropriate length and the cockpit simply by cutting the original plastic vnoe part of the valkyrie in two and sticking the bottom part on the top part to make it longer.

Lower shot but otherwise the same, yes i know I need to clean up the mess that in my kitchentable.. some RG stuff in the background I see now..

Ground view to show groundclearence etc.

But what of the Ordinatus? Yes! You shall Have Pictures of the Grand warengine of the Centurio Ordinatus once I dig them out of the data-archives and upload them. wich should happen quite soon.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Yes, Ordinatus it is, All Hail the Omnissiah!

Base for this is two baneblade kits slammed together, rhino added for size comparison.

Tracks assembled and put together end to end.

Drive compartment door from the Rhion interior and a few scraps of plasticard to cover the gaps in the sideskirt, uniformly made on both sides.

two fronts added side by side and the baneblade top plate added to form the basis of the engine's command deck.

Baneblade bottom plate added to the side to form the deck, I plan to mount the gun a bit off-center over the flat deck and not center-line where it would hang halfway over the command deck, unnerving the crew for no good reason =).

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Added some plasticard to the top of the nose around the cockpit, fixed up the base for the rear and some additional detail to the rear.

Engine fans added to the bottom, felt like the wingtip thrusters could use som help.
I also started to build up some random junk around the flying stand slot-bit so it won't stand out too much, the melta on the table will be mounted on the side below the nose canard wing.

Here I have added a forward sensor and some small stabilisers, a friend of mine noted that if I wanted to convert it to a stormraven gunship it would be a perfect spot to add a couple of assultcannons...

Main engine exhaust added, stolen from an SM drop pod.

Little update on the Ordinatus, some more deckplating fitted and I have started to build up the rear with plasticard.

Sweet! What variety of Ordinatus will this be (armament choice, that is- it is obvious that it will be of the AWESOME variety of course).

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Sweet Omnissiah! These builds are epic!

I was going to say I was a little sceptical about the back end of the shuttle until I saw the exhaust mounted there. Looking forward to progress on these two.

Thank you, basicly the Ordinatus weapon will be some sort of really big laser gun, perhaps something akin to a volcano cannon.
There will be a pile of anti-infantry guns ofc. for perimeter defence and I am thinking of adding a couple of linked autocannons for some airdefence with all those damn vultures and orc fighta-bommerz zooming around the local apocalypse-scene.

As for the shuttle I did intend to lengthen the tail a bit and not end it in such a abrupt fashion but the design I was toying with was giving the craft a little too sleek profile and i wanted to capture the very 'blocky' and non-aerodynamic design of imperial aircraft design.
Also i reasoned that this way it would resemble more closely the futuristic flying WWII beach landingcraft it is.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Another update, planned to do so tomorrow but it comes now instead.

Again, I have been tardy with taking photos during construction so unfortuneately no documentation exist on work after the last uploaded pic and this batch..
Will try to remember to do so in the future.. also bear with the crappy pictures, I don't have a proper camera and have to make do with the once integrated in my cellphone, wich is pure crap and can't take closeup's worth a damn.

Anyhoooow... lots of plasticard.
Plastic components on the right side is from the baneblade rear armour, the land raider's interior powerplant and sliding doors.
Some cities of death plastic walkways for quick floor and a pretty mechanicus symbol from the same kit smacked on the front over the demolisher cannon's mounting point.

Now the gun pipe is not fixed in place, it will be worked on a lot more than this and is just there to give an impression of how long it will be, the little observation deck running out over the barrel will be raised, probably 1-1.5 inch.

Size comparision: Rhino and CSM

A little closer.

Very nice indeed. I'm assuming you'll be adding recoil mechs and gun support mounts.

Slightly off point if you get the chance I would love to see a closer photo of the missile system on your rhino transport. Look inventive and uber cool to boot.

And just like that I feel incredibly small =(

In all seriousness it looks good, though I agree with Lennysmash it needs a kick ass recoil system.

Great use of parts in these models! I have always had a suspicion that some GW kits are supposed to fit together and that one day they will post instructions on how to make some monster machine out of regular parts (sorry, I got a bit carried away there!) Loving the ordinatus!

First off; thank you for the positive comments.

Lennysmash: it's not something special. just the terminator cyclone ML glued on the rhino's stormbolter 'dish', I use it as a hunter-killer missile on the tanks in my BT army since I always felt it was a bit unstrategic to have a one shot ML system without capability to reload it during prolonged combat.. originally I used it on my predators as a nod towards the Command and Conquer: Red Alert russian Mammoth tanks (old computor game from the mid 90's).
Feel free to steal the idea ruthlessly

Preliminary rules for the ordinatus will be something along the lines of 3 Structure points, 3 voidshields, 14 13 12, BS4, Warlord Titan Volcano Cannon for the main gun with the Disruptor Beacon and General staff Strategems and a transport of 20 for the skitarii support elements. 1500 point in a first draft seems reasonable to us in our gaming club.

As for the gun it will be bulked out with a lot of plasticard and I concur, it does need a badass recoilsystem.

Small Problem: I have managed to completely break my phone and with in my camera so this means that until I can lay my grubby little claws on a new one I have a problem with bringing you updates.
I will try to steal a digital camera or something from friends, someone must have a camera somewhere...

oh.. and do remember: cellphones and a sink full of dishwater don't mix.

Well, after some expense I have now accuired means to take new pictures, also known as a new shiny Camera!

So some progress with the ship, made a nice melta for it, added some basic plating to the lower hull and a few bits and pieces here and there.

more armorplating.

Side shot.

as seen from above ^^

As for the ordinatus I have ran into a problem, I needed it presentable and at least a little painted for an Apocalypse game (20k points on each side) but without a functioning camera I couldn't take pics.. Sorry about that.

However i didn't have time to finish the gun so it remained a basic unadorned pipe.. now however I have removed it from the hull and started building it 'Good and Proper'.

Aaand here's the basic shape of it all.

Close up, a little burry though.. not mastered the camera yet.

Holding it up to the hull, more stuff will be added to the hull around the mounting point in time to bulk it out a bit.. and yes.. recoil system delux is being planned.

Random stuff I am doing some work on on and then.. no overall plan on how it will turn out at all. Ordinatus towering in the far distance on the kitchen table.

What a great blog. I love the shuttle.

The tank looks epic, but I am not fond of the main gun design and how it integrates to the chassis.

Random Picture Post!
This has nothing to do with anything, besides the colourscheme for one of my Dire Avenger squads for my eldar army wich is by now about 50% done when it comes to painting..
not much new on the big things this is acctually about, just cutting up plasticard in various forms but nothing worth showing as of yet.

however some feedback on these would be nice.. too dark? too much gold? why the hell I even bother to plow down 3-4 hours per model in a standard troop unit? fielding avengers with shimmershield?! am I Insane?!

so.. Exarch time! and no.. still working on the flag and knife for his back.

exarch colour is black undercoat, 40/60 Hawk turquoise/Chaos Black highlight, followed by a 80/20 Turquoise/black and then a pure turquoise highlight.
It is then highlighted 60/40 turquoise / white then roughly 30/70 T/W, each highlight a little thinner than the previous and with a lot of water in the colour.
Finally watered out white is 'dotted' out on the extreme highlights, gold is highligthed from tin bitz through dwarf bronze, shining gold and mithril silver; each new colour blended 50/50 with the previous one before applied on it's own.

And yes, I know the melta is a bit too close for comfort but it is the 41st Millennium, stuff with the aerodynamics of 15 shipping containers clobbed together in awkward angles fly at many times the speed of sound without breaking apart and there are space elves running around in pointy hats.
Have a look at the Caestus Assult Ram from FW, that melta would do the same. *shrug*
So somehow it survives.. very efficient thermal shielding and improved magnetic containment fields would do the trick.
