I want to know what dakka thinks is the saddest moment in a kid movie.

That part was sad. However, that scene from toy story was one of the few spots I shed man-tears at in a kids movie (many years back, of course)

The end of Toy Story 3. It's sad but at the same time it has a happy ending. I shed a tear or two.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

Yeah I vote Up...those scenes were incredibly well done and sad.

Of course 3D glasses were designed to hide Man-tears, so its all good

Old Yeller would be pretty high on the list as well.

I was kinda sad when the bikers moved the trucks away from the mall entrances and let all the zombies in and then 2 of guys got killed and the other 2 had to escape in their helicopter.

Pretty much the whole of Toy Story 3. It seems like all the Toy Storys are pretty sad but 3 was the worst, they're just going to go through another cycle of being loved and abandoned.

So, for me it has to be Lion King, but for a somewhat different reason...

When that movie first came out, my family (Dad,Mom, Big Sis) were all getting into the van to go see it. My Sis and I are buckled into the back seat and my parents are coming out. So my Mom is going to drive and shes just sat down in the drivers seat when I hear my Dad yelling about the dog.

The next thing I hear is my Mom slamming the door shut and a cracking noise. Yep, my first dog Tramp(a Yorkie) had gotten out of the house and jumped up just as my Mom was slamming the door and she broke its spine, killing it. We didn't see Lion King that day, instead my dad cleaned blood off our driveway and my Sis and I dug a hole and buried our dog...

"Legend of Zelda"? I'm completely at a loss as to what I was talking about here.

But has no one yet mentioned Bambi's mother getting shot? That's usually considered the archetype.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

I don't know, I always had raccoons in my backyard, and they were pretty cool. So the idea of coonhounds never thrilled me.

The Futurama with the Five-Leaf Clover has a pretty good gut punch at the end as well.
