Right, here's another project well on it's way to getting fully converted, primed, and abandoned. Lets begin.

First, I started with a Ramshackle Games NR-2 Stinger. As it's already very Orky, there was nearly no real conversion needed to the hull, other then the removal of the tiny human pilot and searchlight. I removed those with a dremel tool, careful to wear a surgical mask and do it outside. I've heard resin dust is bad juju.

I also chopped off the resin pegs for attaching the wheels, as I don't trust resin in any load bearing joints. I was going to use brass, but wound up using 1/8" styrene tubing instead.

The front bumper looked too flat, so I orkified it some. The middle bit is a shoulder pad from the Killa Kans kit.

The rear was a little plain, and I needed to hide where the gunner meets the vehicle, so I added some armor plates and a lip. I only riveted the lip and the middle plate - my fingers were starting to hurt at this point. I'll get back the other two plates later.

I drilled out some test holes for where to mount the Big Shoota. I figured it would be easy to fill with greenstufff or cover with a glyph. I was originally going to use a Ork Trukk's gunner, but I couldn't get it to fit very well (unfortunately I gave up after cutting it in half). I wound up using a regular, plain old boy, with 2 shoota arms (and the shootas cut off). I shaved the inside-top of his arms to get them to hold the gun better, and planned to sculpt some greenstuff into the gaps and make it look natural, but being extremely lazy, decided to simply cover the gaps with large shoulderpads.I'm going to salt weather the model, and hope to have a lot of the Ultramarine's shoulder pat peeking out from whatever I wind up painting this theme in. Probably Speed Freeks.

I'm using a gun from the Deff Dread box. Yes, I know that Warbuggies have Twin-Linked Big Shootas, but I neither have not care to fashion a Twin-Linked gun. However, I did bother to move the ammo box from the bottom to the side, as it was looking a little cramped (and yes, I saved the bullet feed, will add those after painting). I built the armor plates from styrene and Grandt Line rivets.

Here is a profile view with what I have so far. I think this is likely enough. I'm also working on some necron warrior to immortal conversions, so have been at this quite a few hours now.

Lovely work, just a few touches to make it feel really ork.

I was taking a look at the Boneyard Truck from that range myself, as a possible trukk or battlewagon.

Ok, I started painting it. Work is progressing nicely. However, I know there is definitely a line between "a random toy/model with some Ork Glyphs on it" and "an Orky Vehicle". I'm not sure I've moved the line into the latter category enough. I think the gunner will help some, but if anyone else has any ideas, believe me, I'm listening.

I tried salt weathering. It was a disaster. I primed black, and then brush painted it boltgun metal, with some orange patches for rust. I think let it dry, and then wet it, dropped on some salt, and let it dry. I then (this is where I think i messed up) put on a baseboat with Krylon Enamel. I probably should have airbrushed it. Anyway, it formed a total solid bond with the salt and was completely impossible to remove, even picking with a toothbrush under water water. In some places it looks corroded, which is good, in others it just looks awful and too thick. I was going to strip it but decided to see how much I could cover with wash. I decided to just keep it as is after washing, as I feel it's on the low end of "acceptable to me" but definitely when I do the next one, lots of room for improvement.

Looks very nice, from what I can see in he picture, the weathering has worked very nicely.

I would be happy to field this as an Orky vehicle.

Yeah, looks god man, and the addition of the gunner will have it down solid. I'd been looking at some of their stuff, and this has convinced me.
