Sad day in history today, one of my all time favourite comedians/personalities has passed away, I'll miss you Robin Williams, keep a small spark of madness alive for us all.

In good news though, my little man has turned 1 today, now that came around bloody quick if you ask me.

Looking really good there, my eye is really drawn to the weapon and those skulls. Nice work (as usual!).

Agree on your above points, Robin Williams was one of the good ones and I enjoyed his work a lot.

Kids getting older feels like no time at all, my daughters are almost four years and ten months old respectively, and it feels like the time is flying by. Happy birthday Knightley Junior

OK, your good at flesh and faces... very good! Awesome work.

Considering I have never painted a human face there isn't a lot more I can say

Did you do this all by eye? Or did you have the model under a magnifier for the really small bits?

Cheers Mad. It's been a long road to get to the faces, I've found I get better results from just using my eye, I get worse results using a magnifying glass hard to believe.

Perhaps when my eyes start to fail me I might go to a magnifying glass, but I'm not there yet.

I've spent about 20 minutes going back and forth looking at the photos multiple times...

Stunning, that is an awesome job. Those claws and the eye on his shoulder pad are the bees knees, the whole model is awesome overall. I keep seeing more details every time I look through the photos.

Always interesting to see some of the old work compared to newer, you have improved somewhat since 1997

And is that a termagant skull on his rack? If so, where does Abbadon fight the nids?

@WM - Hahah it was a nice trip down memory lane to repaint Abbadon and there was a lot of nostalgia coming back looking at how I used to paint (and thinking I was really good at it)

@Miss Dee - Totally worth it!

@Mad - Certainly a decent time to look at some of my painting, honored to have you spend some time on it for me

I would always hope there is improvement after 17 years even if it is just an ability to paint faces

I think the skull is an old genestealer head, but yeah, not sure when he would have fought them.

Update: Hopefully the next model garners some more comments

@Graven - Thanks mate, I reckon Kharn might be brassy, might match the other lords I have to paint.

Update: Kharn has had an airbrush of dark red and a wash of red as well

Spent most of the weekend re-assembling models I got from Graven which unfortunately got a bit ruined via the postal service

@WM - I brought Graven's Grey Knight army and currently repairing the models that were broken in transit.

Update: well work has blocked Dakka again, so posting this from home, bit of a shame as I had a routine going on and now I'm going to have to change it. Regarding Kharn, base colors started, not fully done the bronze, but well on its way.

@Moonpie - Comparison pics were a tribute to how I used to paint (showing how bad I really was) and how far I've come, seeing old Abbadon really did bring back some fond memories of being stuck out in the garage with fading light sitting at a tiny painting bench getting him done.

@Miss Dee - Sadly our parent company feel that gaming sites are also a distraction, IE: games-workshop, Dakka etc However forgeworld is still accessible.

@WM - Yep, with Gravens 9k of GKs and my 6k points means I have quite the large army now, just what I wanted! with Kharns face I ran out of time, used the hour to get that much done before having to get back to work
