Last night I spent ages making and gluing together a full unit of corsairs and Executioners (20 each) I made them in nice poses, added a bit here and there. Then left them on the kitchen table to dry. This morning when I was in a shower some wee boy from 'up the road' walked in took them and my cookies, my fething cookies!! And when I asked his mother where he put them he had apparently left them outside in the field and lost them.

That was so much of my money, time and effort wasted and what did the boy get for walking into my house unannounced and stealing from me? A sweet and a drink of juice. I asked him to say sorry and he said to me "you don't have any fething sweets I don't need to talk to you" his mother just laughed. He is 8 and acts like a 3 year old. I have never in my life wanted to take the head off a child more then that moment.

I feel so annoyed its pathetic I saved up for like 3 months just to buy them and they are gone in less then a day and what did I get as pay back? Told to feth off by a 8 year old.

He came into your home without permission and took your belongings? Time to call the police and file a report. Theft is theft. If the parents will not reimburse you, press charges.

From working there a long time now, I really don't think Scotland is the best place to call up the Police and report how an eight year old boy has nabbed your toy soldiers and lost them in a field. Unless you want to give them a good laugh.

Just lock your door when your in the shower.

If that is the case there then it is truly sad. It should not matter what was stolen. I would not expect an 8 year old to be fully prosecuted but you should at least be able to expect them to help and talk to the parents and file a report. Doing nothing will only teach the child it is okay. Theft should have consequences.

I cant file a report nothing would happen accept me being laughed out the station lol.

And yeah I need to lock my door. (was my back door I keep my front door locked) I just didn't know it was unlocked. I had locked it the night before so it must of been my mum when she was in.

So I could play the blame onto her but thats just cruel and how was she to know.

I think it's fairly sad that you need the police to talk to the parents rather than talk to them yourself.

Kids are toe rags, they get up to mischief, it's a fact of life. It's not something we need to be calling the police about.

The OP talked to the parents themselves first trying to take care of things the correct way to which the mother laughed. He tried.

I think it's sad that the police would just laugh you out. He stole a sizable amount of money from you. He confessed that he stole it. You have every right to not just call the police, but file charges.

The 8 year old may just about not know this was wrong.
The mother on the other hand deserves a slap if she reacted like this.

you can blame kids as much as you want but if the "adults" are not setting an example how are they to learn?

I feel badly for you Syan. I still think filing a complaint is the way to go.
Kids aged eight need to know that it is not acceptable behaviour to stroll into someone else's house!
no need to add, " ...and then help themselves to things."

Can you imagine the hue and cry that would ensue if anything happened to little Timmy while he does this sort of thing.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

It will probably be hard to get anything back from this if you press charges, it is your word against theirs on the confession and I would imagine from the way you painted them, they are well versed in lying.

However, it would be great if people like this were put in the town square and flogged. And then you got to throw rotten food at them.

Sorry to hear about your loss, hope you manage to sort this out to your satisfaction.

I hope to talk to them tomorrow, Plus I am an excellent hunter so I hope I can retrieve at least some of them and that boy WILL be dragged along with me, I have 5 miles of back yard I need him to give me general directions.

But I would say his parent really doesn't tell him right from wrong, I dont want to say anything bad about her but but I think the boy just craves for attention sometimes. He once kicked my aunts dogs and the mother told my aunt she shouldn't let the dogs near him...he was the one that ran over to the dog and kicked it. She juist does not discipline him.

Man, If I were you I would have flipped so much gak, they would have been more likely to call the police
Hope you get at least some back.
And you should totally wait till that kid gets a hobby and a sense of money, then go and 'lose' a ton of it.
Then, tell him about that time when he was 8. Ah, sweet revenge

That would teach him!

Call the police , if not to teach the 8 year old some lesson ( his mom should have ) then it'll make his mom to re think how she is not teaching his son to be responsible.
Dont let this slide , his mom need to learn.

hmm, pepper spray and booby trap spring to mind, see what the little skavens parents think when there son has an eye full of irritating fluid. and if they come knocking, "yes, im sorry, i set up a pepper spray trap to see "WHO'S CHILD WAS STEALING" from my house" "maybe i should get the law involved as you have no control over your offspring, and this probably counts as burglary or home invasion of some sort..

theft is theft m8, if he stole a rolex watch or a tin of 17p beans from your house its still stealing.

granted you aint gonna phone the plod, but you know that an eye full of daves insanity sauce 80/20 mix will make the little rodent think twice in future.

I am so sorry, for you for your loss, and also for the theiving little ba~s$rd.
Just shows what "liberal" education has done for our society.
If his parents had any love for the little tyke they would instill some idea of right and wrong.
But they will be too busy proving to their social worker or "care professional" that he has ADHD and needs Rittonel (if prescribed they will get an extra social security payment for his "illness")
I remember when such behaviour was just considered bad and allways resulted in retribution.
I strongly believe that the EU taking away the tawse from Scottish schools was the start of our behaviour standards decline here in Scotland.
Maybe if you told the police he was doing 31 in a 30 limit they would send the ASG!

For you non British readers it is true, our government and "social engineers" actually drug our children to make them behave, then pay the parents extra money for having an anti social child.
I know it sounds insane, but here the lunatics have taken over the assylum.

While it isn't your job to raise this kid, it would be in his best interest to get straightened out, as quickly as possible. And this would really best be done by putting some pressure on his mom; you can't punish the kid yourself, obviously. I'd confront the mother about it if I were you, and make her listen to your grievances.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

The UK has rules that if a Burglar hurts himself in your house because of something you have done, like set a trap, bad DIY etc then they can sue you.

I mean how fething bs is that? Man smashes in your window, trys to get out said window with TV and your self made table breaks under him smashing the tv and all of a sudden you are being sued.

Anyways I will update you guys in the morning.

I hate those cases so much...shows what's wrong with the legal system when a burglar can get money for breaking into your house. =SHakes head=

I hope you give that kid and his Mother a good lecture. I really want to see what comes of this.

Hmm, not to be crude, but if you're of a young age yourself, just beat the tar out of him. "Kids will be kids" cuts both ways.

I got to near the end of this thread and I was going to agree that you should definitly press charges. Parents are responsible for the actions of the kids at that age no matter what happens in my opinion.

Then I read the above post and laughed my helmet off!

If these sort of happenings have been done more than once or twice, call child support and the police. Obviously the kid and his mother needs to learn responsibility.

Also, tell your mothering unit about it, just explain whats happened and you might be able to salvage something out of the situation.
