Hi all,

welcome to my very own p&m corner.
I started wargaming around 2000, a year or so later the guys I played it with quit, so I did as well.
Fast forward to early 2010. I'm cleaning out my room and find a shoebox of old, dusty Chaos marines. Basecoated black with gold dripped on by a senile chimpansee.
In short: they're getting a makeover.

I'll add other stuff and other projects as I go along.

Can you explain the heads? And will everyone be rusty or are the berzerkers going to get a different paint job.

I like the looks from the front but how does it look from behind? Is there an awkward transition gap between the helmet and pauldron?

If there is a gap i would say it might look a bit like not enough thought was put into it.

Overall the astronaut or deep sea diver feel is cool and original.

Because I thought it looked cool and wanted to deviate a bit from the whole Space Marines+spikes theme.
I wanted to show that they're the evil guys without just slapping on pointy bits everywhere.
I'm not completely sure about the paintjob for the berzerkers and whether or not they'll be rusty. All will be weathered to hell though.

I dont like the zerkers heads, but I do like the first guy you put up. Something very NASA about it...or perhaps divers helmet?

I dont mind the rust job either, I'm feeling some underwater zombie-ish rusty CSM... am i way off?

Just wondering why, looks interesting either way. For the berzerkers weathering sounds great and fits the fluff. I would avoid rust on any folowers of Tanzeech, Khorn, or Slanesh and tone it down on troopers that are not Nurgle.

Good work, I love a bit of imagination when modelling! and the no face pad helmets are sure different! but it's your method of painting the armour that makes them truly stand out as something bizzar, chaos doesn't have to be just about the pointy bits and these look decidedly creepy to me...so...therefore they work! I like 'em keep it up, I want to see more stuff like this pour forth from the twisted recesses of your mind....please!

This is the kind of stuff I love! I think this type of chaos is so much more menacing than the "GRAAAGH SPIKY DEATH DEATH BLOOD!" type.
How did you achieve the paint job? It's pretty unique.

That's very cool. Is there a head inside the pauldrons? or do you have a pile of unused heads? Because if you have a pile of unused heads i think you should make a objective marker that is a pile of heads.

Yeah most have (shaved down) helmets inside the pads. Most of those because they were old models that I overhauled. I tried blobs of greenstuff but I went a little too fast through my gs for my liking, so back to heads it is

But even if I didn't use heads I wouldn't have a lot of them left because I order my run-of-the-mill models in parts from bitsites , so I just wouldn't order any heads if I didn't need any.

i like the heads, i think it would look better if you painted the front to look like a glass visor though, like a dull reflective grey or something? nice out of the box thinking

Why don't you just not bother with anything inside heads at all? I can't see why it wouldn't work (of course assuming I'm correct in that the current heads are 2 shoulderpads stuck together?). Does kind of remind me of chibi-marines!

Looks very effective though, kind of like old diving-suit/astronaut suit things, very archaic!

i like your idea, i will try it with some of my sm but i will try to get a more seethrough helmet look.
will the "noses" helmets be up front or with their noses back. i think with those spikes it is a bit too obvious noserelated... but that´s just me...

and here it is...

will make a whole unit of assaultmarines with this method...
