So much great stuff here. I really like the historical miniatures; you do a great job at every scale! The Thirty Years War battle photo makes it look like a ton of fun.

Overall, great quality and variety here. I’ll be checking out your Tabletop Stories site for sure.

@The Riddle of Steel: Thanks very much! Yeah, Tabletop Stories is still in a kind of test run and looks like it. I just don't have the time to make it look all proper yet, but we're getting there. So far my top priority is getting the important older articles back up (rules reviews and the like) and then go on from there. Anything in specific that you'd like to see on the blog?

Right, time for an update!

Wolfshead (a.k.a. Mr.Stripey) is finished.

That's that. Hope you like him. I took great care that things (especially the interior) got the same colours as his Legio Crucius pal I painted a few years ago, especially wires, tubes, lenses/screens, etc. Which made it take a whole lot longer than just painting the things how I like.

Hope you like the photos.

Who could ever stand up to this amount (and tonnage) of imperial might?

A dynamic duo of bespandex'd heroes!

Hope you like these as well! There should be more Harlequins (albeit for a different force) coming up soon!

@Camkierhi: Ha, thanks very much. Well, it's not too hard to impress with these MASSIVE models.

Heyhey, here's my review of the quite unique kit of plastic Chasseurs á Cheval by the Perrys:

I hope that you find the review interesting!

Mr Stripey is phenomenal. The interior detail is impressive.

The Baneblade is very nice, too. You must have some serious skills to knock these out so quickly. I feel like that tank would have taken me a month and you just drop it in almost as an afterthought!

Your blog is interesting. I don’t paint or play any historical games but I love military history and I’d love to try some of those games someday. But my limited hobby time right now is pretty well spoken for with the 30k/40k campaigns my brother and I playing.

@The Riddle of Steel: Thanks very much! The interior work was double complicated as I had to match it the previously done Warhound, with each lense having to have the same colour and so on. Thanks for the compliment on the Baneblade. Painting that one was a breeze. Vehicles, Space Marines, tanks (especially those, and even more so 40k ones) are rather easy to do due to all the pronounced detail and the above things very much being a paint-by-numbers or steps affair. Anyway, thanks for the very nice compliment.

Right, over my birthday I allowed myself to spend some time on a larger terrain piece I've had started working on last November. For a loooooong time it was just lumps of foam gathering dust, but now I took a heart and got some work done on it.

It's not only me trying out a few new things in building terrain, but also I intend to use it for our special Halloween-themed game which comes up in late October (naturally). So yeah, it's starting to take shape now, but there's still a lot of work to do. Hope you like it so far!

Hello, people. Yes, it is I, Lottie, the curse of Milhaven! No, don't worry. It's just old Sigur.

..and I bring new things to show. After having gotten distracted with the Chasseurs á Cheval, some terrain building (hope to find the time to get back to that soon!) it's Harlequin time again.

Different project though, hence different colours, different goals, and different detail wishes. Here's three test minis:

I sent them off to get the colour scheme thumbed-up by the gentleman I paint these for. Fingers crossed.

Right, I hope you like the minis!

As for my own stuff - little news there. I got to play Rangers of Shadow Deep, of which I hope to do a review and game report soon. Until then - happy weekend!

Your test paint scheme Harlequins are top notch- I like those colors. Great attention to fine detail!

Obviously, the next logical evolution in your painting must be Harlequins a' Cheval....

I've always loved Harlequins... just couldn't paint them worth a darn. Wonderful to see someone who can.

Right, here's another WIP shot of some Harlequin troopers, including a Solitaire:

They're slowly dancing towards the finish line. After these, there's just the Shadowseer and Death Jester left to do. Well, "just".

Hope you like them!

@Gitsplitta: Thanks. Still not sure how to take proper nice photos of those. I lack the Eldar terrain. Or anything fitting...

In the mean time and in between time, here's a little thing I did while waiting for things to dry. Once more, it's Freebooter's Fate minis. As usual, the Brotherhood faction. Cortante and Velocia:

While the distinctive (and lovely) Werner Klocke style is a thing of the past, these figures are always nice to work with. Subdued colours, a bit of understatement paired with often very wacky designs. Just nice. Hope you like them!

@Gitsplitta: Yeah, well, I have to. Very, very glad though that I do!

Right, after an interesting weekend (D&D,babysitting, election), I STILL have these Austrians on the table...

I gotta admit, these cuirassiers are more of a slog than I thought. Austrians seems so straightforward, but I kept running into detail questions, and just lack the literature on the Austrian army...

....aaaand done!

2 Generalmajors, Grenzers (the chaps in the brown jackets), Cuirassiers, and a 3lbs cannon. All Austrians of course.

I finished those over the weekend of our general elections, which was delightfully appropriate and inappropriate at the same time. Hope you like them!

Next: the last Gloomhaven mini (wasn't included in the box and a replacement had to be ordered), Polish lancers in 25mm and then.... I guess Super Dungeon Explore chibi figures again.

Look what I got! Ophios, by Mierce Miniatures. Been after this one ever since its release in late 2012 (back under Maelstrom Games' Banelords banner. Remember that one? Amazing vendor for many years. Then things spiralled out of control and things got really messy.). Now they ran a voucher thing with 50% off certain leaders/monsters and I got this one for 25 quid including shipping. Which is OK. Mierce know they do remarkably nice figures (I'm only really into their larger monsters. Their Chimera is and probably always will be the nicest monster model around.) and they know it. It's premium prices, along the lines of Forgeworld, but seriously good quality and some amazing sculpts.

I'll do a review on this kit once I finished painting him. Which I hope will be the case at some point. So yeah, that's the Friday treat. In other news - out of primer for the Polish Lancer bases. Yesterday I filed those 3mm thick (40x40mm) steel things to round off the edges. Took quite a while, and my fingers still are all messed up (because I'm a delicate flower). Finished the last Gloomhaven figure now (the one that wasn't in its box with the game, so it had to be ordered from the manufacturer a few months ago). Cleaned and primed a whole lot of Super Dungeon Explore figures (lots of big monsters, lots of ninjas, frog knights riding huge chicken, treasure chests, mimics, a knight's armour inhabited by sentient thorny strands, etc.) which I hope I can get start working on soon. But the primer's still drying. I don't know much about things and stuff, but I do know that you do have to let primer dry properly. Then it'll be your friend. With the vallejo brush-on stuff I used on these I'll leave them at least 36 hours.

I'll also have to start preparing things for VIVAT, which will take place next weekend (October 12th). So if you're in the Vienna area, drop by.

...aaaaaand he's done!

Technically there's a lot more to do in terms of neatening up and the final lick of niceness, but I simply don't have the time right now.

Hope you like him! In case you're in the Vienna area this weekend - you can see him live at VIVAT this Saturday (but you'll also have to put up with me being present as well ).

Snake man is awesome, I love the patterns you have added to the scales and the details on the face, hair and swords are very impressive.
