hey blackhand I'm not trying to be nitpicky or anything but I would go back and cut down the round bump under the space marine helmet on the marine with the out stretched bolter it will make it look 100 time neater and help pull off the epic pose.

But nice job on everything else.

Its the bluetac holding him together which is making him look so odd

Hey People, long time no post

I am currently knee deep in squeeking rats, clammering for their lasguns but I figured I would take a moment to post a couple of pics of a Sabre Legion Terminator I am slowly working on just to let you know I haven't completely forgotten the Sabres

Oh BTW this guy is one of five lightning clawed termies I bought for the army as well as a drop pod and 6 plasmacannon armes long fangs, so the army is groing just very slowly

Cheers

I know I would love to get one but as fa as I can tell it is a gamesday only model, If it comes up for sale on their website I will definitely pick it up....though I think I would cut off the flamer and mount a stormbolter or sumthing, I'm just not fond of the flamer.

edit : Scratch that I just checked the site and saw it is for sale....man my wallet is really going to hate me

@vitruvian - Haha, thanks for checking though!, Having had a good look and thinking about shelling out $40+ for one model which won't match the reast of the army I have been having second thoughts about buying him. I may end up making my own version of the talon-clawed lightning claw and use one of the sabre legion terminator pads I am already planning, then putting together my own terminator captain

@Gitsplitta - Thanks bro, I am mainly using them as a fresh break from my 40skaven so progress will be slow but getting new models for the army has piqued my interest for sure.

@Santobell - Check out my casting tutorial for tips

Good thing is that the tutprial hasn't stopped growing so you will find plenty of up to date info and Aetheran, Kommander Klaw or myself are always happy to answer any questions.

@sennacherib - Thanks bud, I'm glad to hear that people are still interested in the Sabres!

Cheers

This may not be a big deal for some of you but its pretty damn cool for me and I really appreciate you all visiting and posting, Thanks!

Second I have a few pics of the new Sabre Legion Terminator pad I have been working on and have now cast, I doused it in a wash so you can see the details better.
Can I also say how much I hate Macro photography as it show every single flaw in the cast!!!

And here is a pic of all five Lion Guard in their new Terminator armour

Well thats where I am with at the moment, now on to the Legion ornaments and purity feathers!

C&C welcome as always

Cheers,

Look very good BH! The only thing that looks off is the front right guys head. Seems a bit high up.

I like them, they look awsome and they don't look like they are slouching like GW terminators (not that they are slouching, they just look like they are). Are they taller than GW terminators?

Keep up ther good work

They look taller because the chestplate is twice as long as the chestplate the termies came with. I cut the hood piece off the normal torso plate and then glued and GS'd the Sabre chestplate under it.
They still sit at pretty much the same height as regular termie they just have the illusion on of height.

@Whalemusic - The one on the right you mentioned is an AobR Termie that I had to do a lot more surgery on than the normal termies, it was a real learning experience to see how different the two models are.
He is about 4mm taller than the rest as the waist had to be replaced and I wanted to see how much I could biggerise it without it looking goofy. The AobR head is bulkier than a normal one as well and sits quite high in the hood which is why it looks the way it does, happily from above (where you are looking when playing) it is pretty hard to tell any difference in them.

Thanks Lenny!

I could probably wouldn't have a use for the stone age chick as well..maybe I could try sculpting a lion..it will probably be pretty far down on my list of things to do unfortunately :(

Thanks again for keeping an eye out for the Sabre Legion.

That I can well imagine BH, what with creating your own chapter, building an entire counts as army and helping fellow dakkites with the sculpting and casting advice. You're a gem that's for sure mate.

Very true I think since starting to really engage with people on here my painting, minor sculpting and hopefully with my new project my major conversion work has improved dramatically. I think I've made more progress in the last year than in my previous decade in the hobby. A little bit of that is due to my increased time with being at Uni but mostly its down to contributors like yourself who don't just post a comment they really engage with the community, so once again Cheers Old Boy.

Rigth I'm going to grab some porridge and man up now, I promise

Not to drive you into another direction BH but I found these on Cool mini and thought of you

No worries Santobell,

I've seen the pads before and they are pretty tempting, they would be great as a contrast to any Sabre Toothed Lion hides I drape over the marines but at the moment I have a power armour and termie armour pads of my own design made up so I will probably only get the scibor pads for an honour guard type unit....which will be long into the future at this point

and for anyone that is still watching the thread I have picked up an AoBR Dread for the Legion as well as a drop pod so once my Skaven project winds down sometime in the next decade I will have plenty of plastic for the Sabre legion!
