Magnets at a model that is going to be glued to a base anyway?
Yes. When I worked on the the autocannons the parts glued to my fingers but not where they belonged to. So I fixed the poisitions of the arms. This will also help painting because now I can paint everyting and glue it in place when it's finished.
And I have about 50 of these 1mm magnets lying around.

Unfortunately, I have no update on the lascannon teams. I did, however, start with a commissar and another mini.

I'm trying to build some more with different poses. They are going into my close combat squad, thanks to DKoK being able to give platoon standards to normal squads.

A bit late considering how long ago they were painted, but how'd you do the skull mask on the grenadiers?

I am working on mine and I'd like to achieve the same effect (So far I am going Black Primer/Chaos Black (in case of paint dripping) for the lens and boltgun metal + badab black wash for rim)

The masks are Bleached Bone, washed lightly with Badab Black.

Well hell I was close, already painted them skull white, wasnt sure if I should wash them, now I am.

I absolutely love everything you've done. But IMO there isn't enough mud above the knees. But that's just me, I'm very odd like that.

I'm always in a fight with myself over the mud. Too little, too much. I don't want to put a heavy layer of mud over EVERY soldier.
I'm also not going for the look of them having been lying on the ground much but more like having been in the mud kneedeep.

See that one in the middle? Meanwhile there are some that are a bit more dirty than others. It's a way to distinguish between squads, too. Some have bayonets, some have rucksacks, some are very dirty veterans, ...

I don't really like how the strap of the gun turned out this time. I'm thinking about trying again. And I have to see that I get a new pot of yellow. As you can see I used yellow on the first flag and Bubonic Brown on the other two.

btw. this is a conversion that I planed to do for a long time now! I'm happy I finally had all the parts together!

PS: I'm a bit unhappy with the look of my stilized barbed wire, lately (--+--+--+--+--+--+--+--+--+--+--+--+--+-- ...)

Man, the banner-bearers look good! Actually, I don't think I would have noticed much if you mentioned using two different colors for the flag. They all look nice.
If I may be so bold as to suggest, the bubonic brown ones look dirtier and a bit faded out. Maybe you could use that for all of them?
