When I fist was using THSS terminators, I thought that for some reason that the SS denied you the extra attack for charging... but they still rocked.
There was a phase of me playing Tau where I took all the wargear for my battle-suits for free (Which could actually be permitted by RAW... just obviously isn't RAI.)
I really don't recall my opponents doing anything ridiculous... if they did I was probably too much of a n00b at the time to realize it.

This was ages ago.. 2nd before there was a BA codex but there was a SW one. My buddy decided it was not fair that the SW had their own cool rules just for being grey-blue and dressing in furs, so he made up some for his blood angels. This obviously not intended to be taken seriously but we played with it one night at a beerhammer session in college.
Going with the same idea as orks have, with "red wunz go fasta" sort of thing (which had no game effect either back then) he decided that the blood angels should be allowed to use their red color for a special attack:
THE BLOOD ANGELS LAVA ROLL:
During an assault, if the Blood Angel unit is charging an enemy downhill from their starting position, they drop prone and roll down the hill like logs at their enemies. The crushing weight of the power armor slamming into their foes gives them +1S to their initial charge attack, after which, combat is resolved normally.
priceless.

I think that is literally the first time anyone's ever cheated to get a searchlight. For something that you'll only need in one third of the deployments you can possibly get, its a hell of a thing to cheat over.

Well, it wasn't the only thing he was cheating over... it was a bad scene, and not one I'm interested in seeing him repeat. When he's ready, he can play in the adult tournaments with me where I know the vast majority of players (if not all, the adults are a great bunch) would not stoop to such behavior.

Doesn't the book say 'run towards their table edge if they can, if not, the nearest edge.'?
Yeah, but he could have headed towards my own table edge so he wouldn't have run off the board.

Any ork trying to get searchlights in a DoW deployment has lost the game right there...
|
7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

Joke's on him. All Berserkers are WS 5, not just the Skull Champion.
Ha! Thats hilarious, I don't have any chaos, or know much about them, so I just assumed that what he said was right! (besides the hit allocation)
Also, I just remembered another thing that happened in that battle.
He said "my aspiring champion (different one) has a 5+ invulnerable save, so I'm going to allocate those two hits to him."
I was all fine with this, until he failed one of the saves.
He said, "Oh, that means one of them dies," and removed one of the regular chaos space marines.
After a long argument, and more of his mumbled curses, he removed the aspiring champion.
Seriously, you don't need the rules to work that out, you just need common sense, which reminds me...

Just remembered one more, common sense man should understand this too. He elected to assault my nobz squad, but found he was out of range. Once he knew this, he claimed that he could then move 6' in any direction instead of towards my nobz. Cue argument and mumbled curses...

way back in 3rd ed I had some guy try and tell me all khorne berzerkers could take feel no pain (when in reality only champions and commanders could, it was an upgrade you took from the armoury)
I played chaos at that time (Khorne no less) needless to say, I knew better
I am very picky with games (people need to have army lists and roll dice where I can see them)

Me: Ok, my orks have massacred your necron warriors. Remove them and I'll consolidate.
Him: No, I still have to roll my WBB.
Me: So if I sweep warriors, they all die, but if I kill every one of them with no res orb nearby in a massacre, they can still come back?
Him: Yes.
[One consolidation roll later, it's his turn.]
Ok, that's 18/20 warriors back up using my 3+ we'll be back...
At this point I demanded to see his codex. I can't really blame a necron player from getting the most out of his 3rd edition codex, but cheating is going too far.

thats pretty douchey dude.
just call him on it and/or get someone else in to 'referee' any rules queries.
one of mine i just remembered:
playing for pretty much the first time i assumed any sword that wasnt visibly a chainsword was a power weapon...my scouts kicked that game!

Two wrongs don't make a right. Like Revenent said, just call the SoB (not Sister of Battle) out on it, our get a referee. Cheating in response to cheaters is not the way.
