And I loves it. Avatars of War; I found a discount retailer online that had it for $30 (USD). The quality of the model and casting was topnotch; the only gripe i have is the banners on his back and the tusks on his gut plate keep popping off but that's all my fault for being too rough with my models. I went hammer/iron fist and converted a bull into my BSB with the sword (cathayan long sword anyone?).

I did the exact same thing, however mine has been mildly converted so that I can use it in my GW.

For the 2D6x10 my guess would be you roll each game, and add the total to your list - so theyre free points. after all it didnt say these points count towards your army total...

Holy crap! Those special characters are awesome. I wasn't real pleased with the new models, except the stonehorn, but these are great. The firebelly is beautiful. I can only hope to be a good enough painter to do that guy justice. Thanks for posting them guys!

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

Depending on Beastmen 2nd wave, Ogres have a damn good shot at being my newest fantasy army.

Anyone know who sculpted the Firebelly?

And here I came to post about how I liked the Firebelly but am dissapointed by how skinny he is He doesn't look very Ogre-y IMO.

Golfag looks a little too busy for my taste (though he might be better without the shark mouth behind him). The executioner guy is ok - he doesn't strike me as tremendous or terrible.

Is the guy with a pistol on the mournfang a special character? Or is he just a unit champ? It's nice to see another angle on them, but the result is still the same - goofy looking. I was hoping it would be easy to just slide the saddle down to cover the skinny haunches. But now it looks like the saddle itself is a high-seat.

Isn't that sort of the point of the Firebelly though? They are strange even for ogres, which is why they don't use the Ogre Magic.

I'm so torn about that. I would say Brets and WE need a new book in equal measure, but I have a WE army. So it's pretty hard for me to not root for WE to get their book first, but in all fairness I'd be willing to settle it with a coin toss.

That's true, and the last Tau book depicted them dying in droves to Space Marines... Oh wait, Space Marines kill everyone now: even in that army's fluff.

These models are quite impressive. Especially the Firebelly (assuming that's the chap breathing fire). Presumably the mounted character is plastic, while the others will be Finecast? For all it's fragility, Finecast seems well suited to larger models like this, which will be reasonably robust but still light.

I am really regretting selling off my Ogres...

the mounted Hunter is probably part of the Stonehorn/Thundertusk kit seeing as thats the mount option.

I wonder if Tyrants can get Stonehorns as mounts. that would be epic.

Oh God this again? Can't we just post the points costs? Is it really so difficult?
