too much green? well...depends... i dont know where one could take a bit of green away and replace it with another color...with nids i am always at a loss... but if i was to play with the scheme... i´d say get rid of the extra green on the carpace...replace it with brown?or better...switch the then brown with the yellow ...

I've seen some really nice Nids with a pale color scheme. Like a Tan body shading to Brown under the chitin, Yellow plates, maybe Purple-y soft parts? Or is that too many colors? I'd like to see what it looks like though.

It doesn't have to be green to blend in with swamps.

You can achieve a great depth of texture with washes, and it could look great all muddy and slimey! I like it!

I think the only way I'm going to resolve this is by actually painting some up, as as much as that site you gave me links to is useful, it's just confusing me more lols. I know what I can do with paints... digital renditions just let down what I'm planning unfortunately

I think, I'll just do the colour scheme I had in my head initially... as I just haven't been able to replicate it with that system. I Want a very earthy but swampy green colour with splashes of vibrancy to show their toxicity.

because looking through the paint compatibility chart here on daka makes me think my initial scheme will still work.

yeah paint some gants... i think that is the needed next step...

my favorite color sceme is the pale skin with the green plates you have on the gaunt just before this last one

I think that one RW is the closest to the one thats in my head lols. As the body is going to be catachan green shaded up to bleach bone on its extreme edges.

Just have to find the paint colors that you feel will do the job.

Yeah, well I'm going to stick with GW ones, but use Valjeo inks as GW don't do them any more :(

I like that one the most, but it would be better to have darker brown skin stuff, and maybe a deeper green chitin

If I was doing a desert theme then, I'd go with that style.

But as a Tyranid swarm evolves to face it's enemy, my swarm is based on my story, which digested every toxic creature it could on a jungle world. to me that states a bold warning colour but camouflage as well.


HIVE-FLEET UPDATE:

25 Termagants of 30 now greenstuffed, bah... five left to do and the Carnifex's too. not sure whether or not to order the resin bases at the weekend or another batch of 30 Termagants... especially as I want/need more for spawning :/

They are lurking in the group shot I took the other day, but have re-jiggered one of them to be more how I wanted. The annoying thing is I bought them as the Apocalypse deal they did when they first released it. I stuck them together, but never cleaned them up properly... which irks me
