Thank you youwashock, Yorkright, darkkt, Olthannon, tzurk, Viterbi, Fifty, and gobert.

Viterbi wrote:You had every right to fear the blue stripes, especially since most mistakes happen at 90% done

Thanks Viterbi, too true.

The unit with all three together.

I have to do something about the stands as those plastic tops are an accident waiting to happen. The weight of the metal riders also makes them a little heavy at the rear.

That amazing white, the beautiful pennants, and the blue/red gem running lights really take these minis into A+ territory, great job!

Thank you Gwyn chan 'r Gwyll.

So it has been a little bit since I worked on the army...however a number of figures have been added that require paint.

Three more Shining Spears (selected to be painted first for the Unofficial Monthly Painting Challenge...wait you say, March is for Marines...that is why there are Marine parts to make a dead one for the end of a laser lance)

A converted Striking Scorpion Exarch (Who notices the change?)

Another Dire Avenger Exarch

Another Support Weapon and Crew

As well as some assorted extra weapons to paint up for Ware Walkers, Support Weapons, and Wave Serpents.

Nice idea with the dead marine on the shining spears. I’m with youwashock on the hand being swapped, though I don’t know my Eldar bits well enough to say where it’s come from

Cool way to get more spears into a painting challenge, looking forward to seeing it come together. The arm swap on the scorpion looks good too.

I've never been a fan of dead guy on spear, but if anyone can make it look good, it'll be the Captain here.

Thank you youwashock, I think you are right, it came off a plastic Guardian or Dire Avenger plastic arm that came in a bits bundle...so I was not certain. But it is metal, and not from those plastic kits, so Asurmen's left arm is the likely source.

Thanks gobert,

Tyranid Horde wrote:Cool way to get more spears into a painting challenge, looking forward to seeing it come together.

Thanks Tyranid Horde, I have to find a way to enter my protest, without missing a month with no entry.

Briancj wrote:I've never been a fan of dead guy on spear, but if anyone can make it look good, it'll be the Captain here.

Thanks Briancj, only a temporary addition for the completion, it will not be permeant. However it might be added for battles against one of the five Marine armies in my gaming group.

WIP on the next three Shining Spears.

Dying space marine not yet included...he will be added once I highlight add the banners.

More old Eldar is good old Eldar as always CB. Thanks for sharing - that old DA exarch is one of my favourite models of all time, so another one is twice the fun. I thought I had de ja vu seeing him in this blog!

Looking forward to more - always impressed with how clean you can get your whites.

Looking good already Captain! What’s the plan with the Marines legs? Has he lost them in battle or are you mid reposing them?

Looking good, Cap'n. Those pennants are just the best. Astartes pattern hood ornament also looks interesting.

Thank you both.

Since the Marine kits provide no spares, none of my mates could provide me a complete body or legs. So I used the Marine gunner and his legs have been sheered off by Laser Lance fire and then speared in close combat. Only going to be a temporary attachment for the Monthly Painting Competition.

Here are the three Shining Spears completed.

Yeah, really clean. Proper original vibe from those guys. They are the 40k equivalent of Silver Helms!

Thank you Ezki, Gwyn chan 'r Gwyll, Fifty, Maharg, Briancj, and gobert for the responses.

Brianci, just white printer paper, folded on itself with glue for some strength.

The full set of six completed.

Now the last three are going to be quite challenging, as I have run out of metal parts for lances, legs, one torso, and one back banner post. So some conversions are in the works.

Those spears are certainly shining.l, such a bright, crisp and smooth job on the white.

Good luck with converting the final 3, cannot wait to see how they look.

Great group shot and amazing work on the whites! And the list of stuff you need sounds daunting, good luck with the conversions.

The pure white with those bold, sharp, high-contrast stripes had to be tough to paint. I have painted White Scars and getting any black or Mephiston Red on my white was just heartbreaking, knowing it would take multiple layers to cover it and risk spoiling the smooth white finish with thicker, chunky, built-up paint areas. These look stupendous. Your freehand skills must be strong to tackle that many stripes on the bikes and banners! I salute you.

Thank you Tyranid Horde, Yorkright, youwashock, gobert, ListenToMeWarriors, IGtR=, Viterbi, and The Riddle of Steel.

Feedback is always really appreciated.

So as mentioned, I have three more to do.

These have been assembled from the remains of five Jetbikes, three lots of Eldar scrap bits (one lot had two torsos, two back banners, and one set of legs from old metal Shining Spears), one Guardian torso/head, two pairs of old Jetbike legs, parts from a support weapon gunner backpack, three flying bases from gaming buddies, and some spears from Archon Studios.

Great job on the rescues! Will be interested to see them painted up, and how they compare with the official models.

Do you plan to mix the squads around or have an 'A team' and a 'B team'?

Thanks for sharing
