why are there so few black modles in 40k some of the scaryest warriors in history have been black the zulus mr t etc it even says in the space wolves codex that there are dark skinned people on fenris so ware are they thaughts???

That and lots of people wear helmets that cover their face. How do you know that most ultramarines aren't black?

My Craftworld Eldar are all black. You just can't see because they prefer to wear their Frownyface Helmets.

Yeah, there are plenty of opportunities to make darker warriors, just most people paint them in lighter tones.

Why the templars gotta be black?

You can paint the skintone however you want. The features on GW models are generic enough that you should be able to do African coloration as easily as caucasian.

Most of my catachans are painted black,Also my ogres.sorry just paint them whatever skin tone you want.The Emporer does not care of color you are.This whole subject matter is not a very debatible subject actually kinda ignorant.

All minis start off grey (or silver),it's the person painting them who determines the color of their flesh.

I've never actually had anyone claim before that Zulus were some of scariest warriors in history. Missed that one.

And I think the average armed soldier from any point in history kicks Mr. T's head in pretty easily.

But as others have said, paint your models anyway you want.

The entire Salamander chapter is black

literally charcoal in some cases for the Salamanders.

There was also a variant of Hive Fleet Leviathan which had black skin, for an unusual non-human example.

Because the vast majority of miniatures gamers are white and for most of them, painting them anything but "Caucasian" is going to actually require conscious thought.

It's not a conscious decision to paint them not-black. It just does not occur to them to paint them any other colour.

Becouse not that many people paint them black. Most models that all there is to it, there are some that just a so white looking it might look funny, but most just need a darker skin/hair tone painted on.

My armies have blue (Tau), green (Kroot), violet (Dark Eldar) and green-sand (Tyranids) skin, my friend's army has green (Orks) skin.
Salamanders have dark skin, White Scars a Mongolian theme, and old Dark Angels Deathwing had a First Nation theme.
And who knows, this guy here seems to have dark skin as well:



No skin problems that I am aware of, just paint the skin the colour that you want.

40k in general has very western/central european characters, with only a very small handful of exceptions. There are practically no slavic/latino/african/asian/indian/etc characters, primarily because the games setting is basically dark ages western europe...in SPAAAAAAAAAACE!

That said, you can always paint your models to look different. For the very few non-covererd hands/arms on my Guardsmen I basically tried to make them look rather dark.
