I am about to start painting my Broodlord however I have realised that there seems to be no start and end point for the carapace. If anybody has a good idea of where its meant to end your words would be greatly appreciated!

The Carapace seem to go around his entire body. I painted mine up like a Jacket. Some others paint him without a carapace at all, or try and separate it somewhere along the back. There's no clear answer though.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

Which Broodlord? Standard or Space Hulk?
Anyway, I painted them like my Genestealers, with carapace only on the back.
BTW all my Genestealers have extra carapace above the arms.

As a follower of your plog I recognise that Broodlord I mean the standard one but thanks as I am getting Space Hulk this crimbo. I think I like the front not being carapace more than the "jacket" type.

No need to GS the armor. I cut some tyranid-ish terrain bit into small bits that looked like shoulder scales and superglued them. I just used GS to fill here and there.

Have a look at the top right piece in this picture. You might have that somewhere lying around. That's the one I cut to shoulder armor sized bits. Especially the spiky parts of the circle works fine for a bigger nid like the Broodlord.
