Good day to you all, thought I'd contribute to this forum after lurking for a while by posting a blog of my latest army . Fluff is currently being worked on.

Here are my first 5 veterans I've converted

And here's a (somewhat small) group shot of them.

Please share critiscisms, hint & tips to help me make this army, would be appreciated.

Cheers,

they look pretty good so far. I think the mould lines need cleaned up a bit. Also I think they need a few more hi-tech gizmos. Its all very well just giving them guns, but I think they need some ammo belts or equipment pouches or something to tie them into the 41st millenium.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I agree with the extra gear. It looks like you have catachans sprues, so there should plenty of ammo/grenades/knives/canteen bitz to give them.

Maybe also a radio, as well. Although the fluff might be more charaterful if you decided that they are too beastial to use vox-links.

When the sun comes up tomorrow I shall work on them and the rest of the squad and upload the photos. Oh and I'm using hornblowers as vox-casters

I agree with what has already been said :
- clean the mould lines;
- add some techy items;
- the horn makes up for a good vox counts-as...

You're definitely on the right track!

Finished the rest of the squad, done as people said and stuck extra bits on them and the other 5 I posted earlier

Apologies for blurry photos

Dude, the horns-as-voxs is a great idea! I use the OOP praetorians models with bugles as my radio operaters. They look great. And remember, the paint hides a lot of imperfections.

Thats how I felt aswell, got them all primed now and you cant tell that they were put together rather sloppily

Actually, it looks like you lined up the joints very well. They look fantastic. Can't wait to see what the vehicles and rest of the army looks like.

Hello! I'd like to say that I haven't died or abandoned the project, I have just recieved a truckload of work to do over the next couple of weeks so painting has been delayed. I managed to put 30mins or so into a test model and will probably finish it tomorrow and post a pic of him.

I have actually posted everything I have thus far since I'm starting this from scratch. I'll be nipping into town on Sunday and I shall buy the bits for another veteran squad or possibly a tank of some sort.

Thanks

Completely agree ... but well on your way to what seems like a pretty kick-ass idea

Excellent idea. However, you've got yourself conflicting symbols- chaos-y 8 pointed emblems and Aquilas- which'll it be?

He did say this was a Renegade IG army. Maybe just remove the Aquila from the weapons and gear?

Excellent conversions... an entire army of beastmen IG would be amazing. Keep at it and i look forward to seeing the results.

Cool, it's great to see someone else 40k-ifying the beatmen kit. Shame you've gone renegade with them though

I found mixing in some Catachan bodies, grenades and pouches into the mixture of parts being used helped make them fit in more than simply adding the Catachan arms

Just looking at the pictures again. Maybe shaving off the stocks on the catachans right arm would be a good idea. The've always been problematic to line up with the lasguns and the left arm/hands. And being so beastial, they'd have little use for the stocks anyway.
