Have anyone read Eisenhorn trilogy? I was thinking of beginning reading those books, they have told me it helps a lot to understand the 41millenium's world and the way people live.
Any suggestions if it is worth it? Dan Abnet is for sure one of the best (im reading Gaunt's Ghosts as well).

The Eisenhorn trilogy is well worth the read, as is Abnett's Ravenor, which isn't a direct sequel but has subtle ties to Eisenhorn.
The Eisenhorn books got me into 40K and I highly recommend them. Just, as always with Abnett, be patient. He really doesn't seem to have a proofreader, and a typo ruins a cathartic scene pretty often in his writing!

I actually just started reading Eisenhorn last night. It is a good trilogy. I think I like it better than Ravenor.

The Eisenhorn trilogy is hands down the best series of Warhammer fiction out there. It even beats Ravenor (which many prefer) IMHO. Prepare to be hooked if you buy it though.

I have heard good things about it; but the best 40k fiction? well its gotta compete with guants gosts and deff skwadron (which is in all fairness a graphic novel [about ork fitta pilots obviousl] not an actual full length book)

Easily beats Gaunt's Ghosts. Of course, I really didn't like Gaunt's Ghosts, mostly because by the end of the first book I was thoroughly sick of all the characters, especially Gaunt, and by the end of the second I actively hated all of them. Abnett is just much better at writing the pseudo-detective/spy type story that both Eisenhorn and Ravenor has than a war story, and the scenes involving larger combats in both Eisenhorn and Ravenor were likewise rather poorly done, just like in Gaunt's Ghosts.

Eisenhorn is one I've yet to read; along with Ravenor; but I have them both in my collection of books. I'm gonna read them next after I finish the Inquisition War; which is another series as good as those first two.
Inquisition books tend to be the best for plot.

I dont think you'll find many 40k fans that arent fans of both Dan Abnett and the Eisenhorn trilogy. Eisenhorn was the first 40k fiction that i read, and i have yet to read anything that has beaten it, though at times the Gaunt's Ghosts books have come pretty damn close. I might even go so far as to say that the trilogy is better than anything i have read outside of 40k fiction too. The plot is absorbing and immersive and the way that eisenhorn's character develops thoughout the story is very subtle, but cleverly done. the book do also give a good insight into how everyday life within the imperium works, unlike most 40k fiction which concentrates much more on battles and life upon starships an the like. Recommended to absolutely anyone and everyone who can read.

Thank you all for recommending me to read it. After those post i will definitely do so
Is it supposed that Ravenor and Eisenhorn are somehow related together or is there any possibilities that one of them must be read first in some way for some reason or some plot-wise reasons? Like Horus Heresy books (that im quite a fan of them i actually own The horus heresy collected visions as well which i find a great job).

If people are asked about the best 40k novel, 80% will answer Eisenhorn triology. Then maybe the sequel Ravenor and Abnett's other series, Gaunt's Ghost about Imperial Guard. After that Horus Heresy series, then people's opinions start to differ.

Ideally, you should read the Eisenhorn books first as it explains how ravenor comes to be in his stasis chair.

I'm reading it, and very much enjoying it! Definitely like the look at lots of "everyday" imperial situations. Wasn't sold on the writing style at first (the first person thing wasn't carried off well at first, but it gets better).
Abnett is pretty good. Probably his biggest weakness is his tendancy to "level up" his protagonists (see Gaunts Ghosts.)

Eisenhorn is probably abnetts best series. Gaunts ghosts went on for too long, and I think that Dan finished on just the right note with Eisenhorn. Ravenor is also almost as good as Eisenhorn, minus a few bits and bobs (its more supernatural, lots *unexplainable power* *universal powerful lore* bits).
Inquisition books IMHO are much more a look at the 40K universe as a whole, rather than just the guardsmens POV, which is just neverending war.
Inquisition war as well is worth a read, very grimdark, and quite a bit more emotional than Dan's writings.

Eisenhorn is my hero, plain and simple. I cannot WAIT to see what he does for the final trilogy -- whether it's Eisenhorn v Ravenor or based off Bequin stuff. Either or both would be very very awesome.

+1 on Eisenhorn being the best of the 40k fiction.
I still find Abnett's take on the Imperium a bit too technologically and morally advanced but it's head and shoulders above anyone else's.
Though Ian Watson's Draco books have a special place in my heart.

Eisenhorn and Ravenor omnibuses were awsome.
perhaps the closest you can come to seeing how "Normal" people live in the 41st millenium.
they are also nice because they have a "Detective novel" feel about them. a real grittyness that lends itself to emotion.

Eisenhorn was the first BL book I bought, actually the first item of 40k I owned, it's one of those books where you finish the end...and you just look to the roof, sky or whatever and are just speechless. While I've read hundreds of books over my life, including BL books, and while I have read better written books then Eisenhorn, It's just by far the best book I've read in my life, I mean it's hard to explain when you haven't read it. The one thing for me that stood out over all was it's perfect ratio of Grimdark and Epic, in the 40k universe they have to be perfectly balanced or else you lose the atmosphere, and other then the Inquisition war, nothing else comes close to it.
