Very nice. Really simple, but obvious you have put some work into it, and its done very well.
What exactly have you used to make it?

It's good, but I think it can be better? The pristine green grass doesn't go with the image well, and in my opinion if you mix something ellow or brown to those parts it'll make the piece stand out more and make it more cohesive. But good job!

The wash and pigment work really bring this piece to life. I do agree with starsdawn, though, that the lush green grass doesn't quite fit the mood of the rest of the piece. Even with that discrepancy, though, it's a fantastic piece of terrain.

This is absolutely gorgeous.
I agree though again with the green grass not fitting, but for two reasons. On the one hand, it ought not be so happy green, on the other, if it is that kind of happy green, it needs to be more overgrown, some bushes or trees, in that nature has reclaimed the fortress.

But it looks great. I am especially impressed by the level of detail you put in the rubble - very convincing.

Absolutely fantastic work on the shading of the walls and the perfect amount of debris on the floors and the ground. As for the idea of NOT having the lush greenery, i disagree, that is exactly what you DO want in a terrain piece that is painted so nice. You see, the vibrant greens of the grass are in direct contrast to the dismall, forgotten look of the building. it provides some color for the building to react off of, for example look at the same pictures in black and white and you will see that the building just sorta blends in to the foundation, It doesn't "pop" like it should without the stark contrasts of the greenery, just my opinion YMMV.

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies. |

HAHAHA, I'm keeping that YMMV.
I mentioned something similar to this, though the foliage seems to be insufficient for the color to be so bright. I might vary on that mileage, but what's your five cents on that? (inflation) Automatically Appended Next Post: I ask for personal reference

Well it could do with some more greenery, I personally would like to see some creeping vines or something similar.

Agree'd, Maybe some more over grown grass with some actually looking as if it's grown up through the rubble around the outside of the fortress itself? I think that'd add to it too. =)
