Hi guys, just a quicky to show you a commission piece I finished for a collecter the other day.

I'll no doubt get some grief for it not having boobies and chains on it, but i'll explain later if needed.

Hope you like

That is frickin' awesome. I love everything about it. That skull helm is GREAT.

What's the story on the blue verdigris/coloration on the metal? Is it indeed verdigris of some kind? Based on the placement and subtlety it doesn't look like it's intended as a magical glow. There's a bit on the axe as well, yes?

Cheers guys.

Its now up in the dakka gallery too, just click the pic as usual.

Mannahnin - Yes mate, the metals are all a sort of brassy compound which doesnt show particulary well in the pics tbh, but the Verdigris is indeed er, verdigris.

Okay, cool. I'm used to verdigris having some green in it (hence the derivation of the word), but all I'm seeing is blue. Maybe it's just the picture.

There doesn't exist a word for something as awesome as this! I want a bearer myself for my Orks but i have never thought of making a Bearer as awesome and epic as yours. This is really awesome. Great paint job really!

I clicked on "Chaos Standard Bearer" and in that brief second it takes to load the next page I read "by: Orki" and instantly new it would be beyond bad-assery before even seeing it. Sure enough. It's awesome. I really like the stained metals you've achieved across the mini and standard. Of course, the freehand is excellent. Again and again, Orki, you never fail to impress!!!

The suggestive-looking orchid makes up for the lack of boobies. - This is an awesome piece, from top of the standard to the base, stunning piece.

Yeah mate, It's looks pretty blue on my monitor too. The backdrop wont be helping (as it will have tinted my cheap cam's white balance), and I also used Hawk turq for the verdigris effect. I would normally use a something much greener for a more natural copper oxide, or purer verdigris effect, but this wouldn't have sat well with the analogous colour scheme used on the mini, so turq it was.

Ah, good ol' Hawk Turq. Great color. Okay, yeah, that makes sense. I agree that you'd really want to keep any green tones pretty subtle with this overall scheme.
