It largely depends upon what and how you're discussing.

It is the height of stupidity one would suggest if you've been warned previously about spamming and building quote pyramids to then set about spamming the thread and/or building said pyramids.

Intelligent discussion, the odd joke or comradely comment ( see the words for a somewhat heartbroken member earlier) is fine. To be encouraged even. Pointless spamming is not.

This is not a random say what you want or general chat thread, we don't allow or want any such thread on the site as, inevitably, it descends into spam filled nonsense and people posting just to increase their post count. There's plenty of silly and not exactly serious threads on the boards already, perhaps too many in the opinion of some but, for now the MOD team are cool enough with them and their existence.

If you're absolutely desperate to have such a thread then go forth and set up a board where you can do so to your hearts content. But you've been asked, several times for some people, not to do that here.
