How to introduce one's self. Well, my name is Tyler, but I mostly go by Pharothane on the internet. I just recently started throwing my money into the dark bottomless pit that is Warhammer 40k. I was visiting my local comic shop one weekend, and was expressing my interest in Warhammer 40k to some acquaintances there. I was very interested in playing the Space Wolves, and to my surprise one of the frequent visitors of the shop said that he was selling his entire space wolf army and deploying overseas. It was all I could do not to make an audible gasp when one of the guys I had just met offered to buy the entire 400$ army and hold it for me, selling me piece by piece as I needed/had the money to get them. Needless to say I am now hooked and every measly paycheck I receive from my part time job goes towards this new hobby-o-mine. To make a long story short, I've been looking at what units I should buy from my friend and which aren't really worth it. Listed below are all of the units I have access to buy:
1 Heavy Bolter Pred
2 Rhinos
Land Raider with Lasscannons. Crusader sponsons assembled, Redeemer bits still on sprue.
3 Drop Pods
4 Lasscannon Marines
6 Missile Launcher Marines
2 Melta Marines + 6 more with Melta conversions
10 Termies - magnetic arms
10 jump pack marines - magnetic arms (I've heard jump pack space wolves are garbage)
6 Bikes + 1 on sprue
4 Flamer Marines
40 Basic marines - lots of magnetic arms
1 Wolf Lord
1 Dred with Lasscannon/ Storm bolter- arms are magnetic
2 plastic wolves that are suitable for homemade thunderwolf calvary

Thats quite a deal there. I'd take a look at the codex before you make a decision. I've only killed spacewolves, or the other way around, so all I can say is good luck, and hope you like assaulting!

I know next to to nothing about wolves, but apparently long fangs are good, so the missile launcher dudes might be handy.

I wouldnt say Skyclaws are garbage..they're not the best point for point Assault marines out there, but then, there are better armies if you want a close-combat/ assualt force.

Thanks for the warm welcome, my marines that I'll buy are pre-assembled, with magnetized arms, however they aren't painted so I'll post some pictures once I finish them

Welcome, I have also just started out with WH40k, and this is definatley the best place for help and advice. I have found out first hand thi is a great community. It will be good to see your painted army when its done.
