Thought it might be fun to see what people think the best (or their favourite) vehicle upgrade in the game is right now and why.

For my money, it's got to be the CSM's daemonic possession on a vindicator.

I agree with the above, it is very nice, and on a vindicator <3

For five points, the Tau Disruption Pod gives a vehicle a 4+ cover save against any shots from more than 12 inches away.

I see your daemonic possession and raise you with one Black Templars Power of the Machine Spirit on a Vindicator!

That said, Tau Disruption Pods are awesome.

Orks have some nice options, as well.

+5 for Red Paint Job - Extra 1" of movement may not sound like much, but it can add up over the coarse of a game. More likely, though, is that the vehicles won't last that long, but the extra movement can mean getting into charge range one turn early. Seems like lots of ork players consider this a mandatory upgrade.

+20 for Deff Rolla - Isn't exactly cheap, but d6 Str10 attacks is nothing to scoff at, no matter who or what you are. Almost any unit you tank shock is going to suffer d6 instant deaths and a rammed vehicle will need to be damned lucky not to end up as a useless (possibly burning) metal husk. In an army lacking in the anti-armor department, the latter case becomes all the more important.

Um, I know it's not really an upgrade, more of a quality, but fortitude on the new GKs. 5pts and better than extra armor.

Speaking of extra armor, I'd put it up for contention of worse upgrade. 15pts just doesn't cut it for me. When I take it, I explode; when I don't I get stunned. That may just be my luck, but I'll sit and be stunned.

Disruption fields. They are just plain awesome, and you can take them on every single vehicle.

Second place goes to the deff rolla. The only reliable anti-heavy tank weapon the orks have.

Definately the disruption pod. 5 points for essentially a continuous bal of smoke that you shoot through is awesome. Put it onboard with a targeting array and you have a fast hammerhead that gets into position for shots every turn and usually doesn't need to worry about finding cover. Definately one of the biggest bang for buck pieces of equipment.

Secondly, I am fond of the simple dozer blade. The siege shield is a little over kill and over priced but the DB is cheap and greatly increases the effectiveness of vindicators.

Holofields are the bane of all anti armour

But it is so funny to see your opponents face as you declare you have a 4+++ in open ground with the disruption pod
they are equally annoying (i play tau and my friend fields mech eldar)
50pts for a hammerhead railgun isnt shabby tho, it can reach out and touch you across the board

My vote is defiantly goes like this
1)disruption pods
2 ) power of the machine sprit
3) multi tracker (10points make the vehicle fire as though it was fast) hello 12" move and rail gun fire lol!
4)camo netting (it may be expensive but giving a vehicle stealth is nuts)
5)psybolt ammo
