I eventually want 3 talos/cronos for the army my only solution was to make several molds of my original talos

This is the mold for the tail

Head/shell & lowerbody/belly molds

I know theyre a bit crude but it was my first try >.< .. the tail mold came out great but the other two could use a re-sculpt/cast

this is the second talos still very much a WIP

All questions, comments, or suggestions are welcome =D

That's really cool! Always good to see people trying scratch-builds and this one's awesome
As far as suggestions go I think there are quite a few places that could be slimmed down a bit. If you look at the original picture, the tail is super thin and gets slimmer at the top, whereas yours is the same thickness all the way down. I think the arms could maybe be a bit slimmed at the joints, especially the round bit where it attaches to the body. You have to get all those dangling wires and skinny arms in, coming off the bottom and sides, as well!

Lordy, that's an impressive beast. My only comment/suggestion is the gs could be a bit smoother in places; maybe try using vaseline and/or clay shapers for a bit more even texture? Nonetheless, outstanding work, mister.

On the armoured shell and tail plates i wanted to cut into it with an xacto to give it a crude iron cast look .. i have wanted to try smoothing with vasaline on the arms .
what i do need is some metal coils any suggestion on where to buy or make would be great.

And some WIP Raiders and a Venom .. basicly only been partially constructed primed and started to paint the main side panels

here's the latest work on my talos pain engine.

painted the fleshy areas with a crimson mix i made from 50/50 mix of warlock purple and blood red.

next is a dry brush of 90/10 mix of bleached bone and blood red.

a special wash was applied on next . a gloss/red wash mix.

a pale flesh mix was used on some areas and the orange was used in crevices to make a power/light effect.

more to come later ...

Hey looks great, Thats one hell of a lot of green stuff, you might want to try millputt or Super Sculpey to save some pennies. You can get the same detail on both putties.

Looking forward to seeing more.

New Project! Finish painting my scratch built Slaanesh Subjugator

This is what ive done so far .. graffiti art kinda like my defiler on the way! Also may change the claws considering the subjugator claws arent your normal defiler claws.

Incase anyone was curious .. two defiler kits, two battlefleet gothic chaos cruisers, Tau hammerhead,
and a ATAT model (think thats what it was) were used to make this beast.

Very nice style on the barge!
Interesting chaos walker.
Why does it say "neglect, protect, destroy, crafty" on your Defiler?

Im pretty superstitius with my chaos army so i give them "chaos runes" to protect them on the battle.

I forget exactly where i got the words but im sure crafty and neglect were not two of the words ..

those are actually obliterators .. theyre about half an inch taller then an actual chaos terminator .. the GW oblitz are hideous imo so i decided to make my own.

Its actually quite simple .. base your lightning effect area/crack with enchanted blue , go over it with ice blue , add in hot spots with plain white.
Final step can be done a few ways .. either use 50/50 white and ice blue and paint on small highlights around the areas you want to "glow" or if you want a static electric look
you can drybrush over the area.

Your Talos is the first miniature to ever make me sick. Great job!

As much as I love Warhammer 40000 and all of it's awesomeness and grim darkness - I must here say Clone Commandos would won the day.

Hhm, "crafty" can also be translated as "cunning", but that's the best you get out of that character. Maybe you find some solace in the fact that you actually did a pretty good job on painting the characters, they are really surprisingly readable for a layman's writing.

Yes it was cunning! If you have any pictures of suitable "chaos" japanese characters id love to see them.

I'll probably add new ones to my decimator model.

Couldent get my hands on a fateweiver so decided to do my own out of the GW lord of change model .. issue is that is problably the worst sculpt GW has ever produced so im adding some meat to the bones and a stylish pose.. motivated from ultraforge vrock model.

Still more green putty work to do .. i plan on adding cloth strips that hang from both heads.

Had a keeper of secrets head ,left over bits from a demon prince kit( only front chest/wings/ right arm/ left hand .. rest is green putty) and made a new slaanesh demon prince!
.. cant ever have too many XD. still WIP need to find a proper tabbard then start to paint it.

thank you! found a new trick recently with still water .. after all my base painting and drybrushes i mix a colored ink with some still water just like 3-4 drops and it gives it a nice shine but not shiny really makes xeno flesh look nice.
