Thank you. I was thinking of doing the boars in a couple shades of browns, but I figured that was probably a relatively common color and I wanted something kinda odd...crazy if you will.
I'm excited for my fruit, but I wish they didn't take so long to grow. I'm very eager to fill my face.
nice works, but i paint greenskinz with another way
first i use orkhide shade
than
1. orkhide shade + goblin green
2. goblin green
3. goblin green with bleaeched bone
you can also use thrakka green over all green parts of your model
this is simple way to achieve very nice result)

Thanks for all the tips/compliments everyone. I haven't gotten any painting done at all since my last post 'cause I'm too excited. My lil' boy is starting to learn to walk on his own. So cute!
@al_dot: I paint mine exactly the same way, but I stop at the Goblin Green (used only as an extreme highlight on noses/lips/etc) and wash with badab black.
And that is why you hear people yelling FOR THE EMPEROR rather than FOR LOGICAL AND QUANTIFIABLE BASED DECISIONS FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE MAJORITY!

namn - Naw. Don't need now Whiskey. Just need to put on The Wiggles (kids music and dance show) and he's a bump on a log, eyes glued to the tv. Admittedly the TV isn't the best babysitter, but it sure is helpful.
Leigen_Zero - Thank you muchly.
So without further delay I bring you my most recent accomplishments. Accomplishments is actually quite a questionable word to use as nothing is completely finished yet.
Actually quite happy with this one, but can anyone tell me a good recipe for making skin look dead for the head he's holding? I was thinking maybe bleached bone with an ogryn flesh wash, but I don't really have any experience with severed heads. Help?
The loincloth here looks awfully messy...much worse than in person. Darn...
These 4 are nearly done. Just need to do a bit more on the gems.....
......and the little dangly things on their belts. I got the base colors done on 4 more plus that cannon thing (sorry can't remember what it's called at the moment).
Well, thanks for looking and happy painting.
P.S. Lil' guy hasn't figured out the walking thing yet, but that ain't stopping him from being destructive. Plus I got a new puppy who decided it would be fun to walk through the metal post things of my stair railing, onto my painting desk and THROUGH all my Skaven, scattering them everywhere. And now she's eating my socks....oh the joyous mayhem. Buh-bye now.
Those eldar are looking good. I like eldar figs usually because I really like bright colorful paint jobs. The white on the helmet looks particularly good.
Glory is fleeting, but obscurity lasts forever.
Considering also your duty as a warrior you should not waver. Because there is nothing more auspicious for a warrior than a righteous war.
I really am pretty jealous about your control. For me it always takes the most time to get the basecolors where I want them to be! You seem to have no problem with that at all... I think it would be time for you to get away from the simple techniques and try some more advanced stuff, maybe glazing or feathering, you're minis would look even better
For dead skin you should not try to paint it in like a color and a wash as you shouldn't do with any skin imo... Go for a base color of a mix between some skin color an bit of grey and bleached bone with some little bit of green/blue/purple if you want to. The key is mixing up the color and then apply quite a few very very very thinned down layers of highlights and try to go for some unnatural color as a shadow (mix some green in the shadow for example) I would recommend trying it out on some other model beforehand
Yeah - it's gotten kinda long and boring anyways - nice work and if you shouldn't understand what I tried to explain you can pm me if you want
Heyyy, those Eldar look nice, bunnygurl. Better watch out for that boy of yours, they are a TON of fun when they hit the terrible twos; keep everything out of reach, because any two year old favorite toy is your favorite model!
Bangbangboom - I'm happy to report that nothing as been broken by any little creature as of yet. Clanrats seem to be quite formidable.
taffiarti - It seems that way doesn't it.
SnakeByte - Thanks a million for that advice...unfortunately I have no the faintest clue what glazing and feathering is....probably why you don't see any on my minis. I have mixed colors before but embarrasingly it's not something that comes to my mind often.
_Tim? - One step ahead of you my friend. I have a cabinet that I store my completed models in that he cannot find his way into. It's just the WIP stuff I gotta worry about.
A few Eldar have rounded that completion corner and a few more are rolling up to the corner, but seeing as how it's 12:30am and I have no sunshine to take pics in...well, you know the deal. Oh, and something I learned...the metal Eldar Avatar.....pain in the backside to assemble. Had to hold one of his arms on for 45min before it held. Thank God So You Think You Can Dance was on. Managed to keep it from going through the window.
I'll get the hang of this update thing. Promise...I hope. Also doesn't help I don't get to use the computer much anymore 'cause Mr. video game addicted hubby is always on it. Probably also doesn't help that I work nights so I sleep all day when the be a shinin'.
So I've completed my Beastman Chariot save the severed head. Still haven't tackled that, because I've been focused on my Eldar as of late. Only have 2 left in the Guardian unit, and all they need is their guns painted and the extra bit the hangs off the belt, plus being based. Easy as pie. This would have been finished tonight, but it's a no-go as my sister-in-law and baby neice are sleeping in my living room.
Also been assembling my Eldar Battleforce. Finished assembling the Dire Avengers unit (which I will be calling the Tiger Avengers - and you'll find out later when I begin painting them) and the bodies of another Guardian unit. Not looking forward to assembling the War Walker as it wasn't a fun treat last time I assemble one.
Figured I'd go through my list again to see how I'm doing. I believe I'm very much running out of time for my goal of being done everything by my b-day (Nov. 25). Eep!

Gimme a B..... you get the picture, nice list head down rear up the only way to burrow through it.
Oh and I'll speek to a couple of astrophysicist friends and see about that longer days thing, maybe we could change the Earths Orbit around the sun to draw the days out
for you, me and all us miniature mad peoples with lists like that
Just caught the title, and I totally agree. Longer days and a cheer squad would be fantastic.
And, my, that is a long list. I see you do have a few things complete on there. That's definitely something to feel encouraged about.
I've got quite a long list, myself, but I have yet to finish anything. Batork is the closest I've gotten (and then it's just the severed heads I've got left )
Considering the presence of tiny people, I'm most impressed! Pesky kids do rather interfere on one's hobby time keep it up, and remember all the other parents are there cheering you on. I can hear it now: Gimme a Zzzzzzzzz...
Theophony"... and there's strippers in terminator armor and lovecraftian shenanigans afoot."
Solar_Lion: "Man this sums up your blog nicely."
Anpu-adom: "being Geek is about Love. Some love broadly. Some love deeply. And then there are people like Graven.
Santobell - I'm rethinking the longer days thing...if the day is longer...it means the expected workday would probably be longer too...is it really worth it?
DarkStarSabre - I'm sure I can do it....but in time?
The Good Green - I do feel good about what I've got done...I'd just feel better if there was more.
inmygravenimage - LMFAO. Ain't that the truth? I could go for some zzzzzs right now...but I gotta go to work...boo. Stupid people shipping stuff to each other. Just walk it over to the other person. I don't care if it's 4000 miles away. What'd people do before FedEx was around, huh? Pardon my rant....
sum1 - Oh what would I do without you? Though I really could've done without the saggy breasted Orc cheerleader...ick. o_O
(one youtube search later and I'm freaked out that the sims was the first thing to appear)
Not stopped by in a while....The little guy must be at least 12 months now. You're a brave lady having and puppy and a baby... Or is it a sensible plan to save on day care?
Nice Guardians, the colours look great.
I also missed these guys....
Peter

Hello Peter. Glad to see you stopped by. Unfortunately the video didn't show up. My little boy will be 1 year on Wednsday 13 this month. Exciting, but it sure doesn't feel like it's been a whole year already. I'm not brave...I just seem to enjoy alot of punishment and minimal sleep. But it's alot of fun and I wouldn't change it for anything. Super glad you liked my Rat Ogres. I believe they are my favorite models that I've painted to date.
So now on to pictures. Yes. That's right. I said pictures. But I will have to beg for everyones forgiveness and they're even worse than some of the others that I thought were bad. I've become tired of waiting for the sun to be up when I'm up, plus decent weather (so not photographing in the rain/wind), so I decided to go for the desk and desk lamp. They're not the worst pictures I've ever seen, but they do leave much to be desired. Anyhoo, behold.
Up first, the completed Beastman Chariot.
Thougths on the severed head color?
Next is the completed Eldar Guardians atop paint pots.
And the artillery thingy. I still can't remember what it's called. Please forgive my gems, they're not something I'm overly practiced in yet.
WIP of my last Killa Kan. Still very very much to do.
And the next 4 completed Clanrats that I finished last night to bring the total to 14 completed Clanrats out of 60 or 80...can't remember.
Everybody look to the left...
And everybody look to the right...
And I believe that's everything for now. Once I get the chance to prime some stuff, I'll begin working on my Tyranid Spore Mines and the Tiger (Dire if you wanna be technical) Avengers. All I need is for the wind to go away as I am not the one that requires priming thank you very much. Well, thanks for looking and happy painting.
P.S. On a totally non-modelling related note, but I'm super above stoked about it....I've lost 16lbs.....just thought I'd vent my excitedness with ya'll.
Those skaven are looking great BG! I like the B&W check patters, it's quite unusual as far as skaven paintjobs are concerned but it looks pretty damn good, are they any clan in particular or just a made-up scheme?
