So I started on my Mega Gargant tonight. One bottle of wine, two A1 sheets of foam core, some sharp knives, my old grease covered plans to show I wasn't working completely of the top of my head and a steel ruler.

This is the what do you call it prow? part (maybe) and what will be the first two gun decks. Obviously a lot still to do, but I'm of to bed. The wifes gonna be mad at the mess I've made in the living room but meh, I will sort it out tomorrow.

I am looking forward to seeing further progress on your Mega Gargant Bangbangboom.

As for my Krawla, Fear not dakkadakka contributors, according to the UPS tracking number i should be receiving my 6lbs (roughly 3kg) of plasticard goodness tomorrow.
Look forward to having your eyes melt and your brain explode from the awesomeness that awaits you.

Okay the Plasticard has arrived and i have done a small amount of work, but hit an obstacle as a thought occurred to me, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Here is a picture:

You can't see it hardly at all in the previous picture but i have expanded the side of the krawla

Now for the obstacle; as you can see in the first picture i have made a sort of ledge, I was previously only going to mount 2 twin-linked deffguns in turrets, cover the opening and leave it at that.
However now i am considering making some sort of veiwing area, whether it be a couple para-scopes, a clear windshield, some sort of orky sensor array or something totally different. I need some input please.

*EDIT* The reason there is that really ugly gap between the two plasticard pieces in the center of the first pic is: I could not find my opened package of squadron green putty, I hope to find it tomorrow morning otherwise i will have to be forced to open a new tube. The worst part is the one i lost wasnt even half empty

*EDIT 2*

Found it!

I'd go with some sort of cobbled together sensor array. Like a radar-dish, antannae, some of those fuzzy looking things (like mechanical moth antanae, that is) only, well, Orkified. Scrap and grills and such.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

I definitely like the idea of a ramshackle radar dish, but I am going to have to pass on the orkified moth-like antennae

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Thanks for the comments guys, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I need a little advice but first a photo of where I have got to.

@ Monkey "Go big or go home" I figured if I'm going to spend my time building a Gargant I might as well go full size

OK so the whole thing will get coated in plasticard at some point, but some areas will be a little tricky to get my big hands into. I want to get these areas done now before I stick any more together. Can any recommend a good glue for sticking plasticard to foamcore?

Any chance of a Barry shot POM?

Happy building guys.

I would think super glue (cyanoacrylate) would do a great job

and at the risk of being called an idiot what do you mean by a barry shot?

Liche Priest Hierophant

Barry was an ork mini used by (I Think) the gargant ownerz klub
they used him for scaling purposes.
So a 'Barry Shot' is a scale shot

And, no, you aren't an idiot, not many people know what a 'Barry Shot' is

Primarch - lComing on nicely ther. I like the idea of para-scopes, especially if they're only ork torso's, no legs, and have bionik telescopic eyes.

Or an observation area/sundeck. Loungers with built-in dakka, grots with parasols and chilled squig-juices, couple of toof-operated viewing binoculars, a shuffle-grot rink.

Bangbang - That looks like a big four eyed head now, go on, build a body for it I tend to use a mix of superglue and plastic glue on plastic/foamboard joins. But that's just me I think you'll find. Extra strength can be had by using dress pins for some of the rivets, helps to pin the plasticard in place.

Kinda need the 'Krander to be bigger. It's supposed to carry Great Gargants, isn't it?

And Superglue doesn't work incredibly well if you get it on the edges, since it'll melt through the foam. Paper to Plastic it's fine, but I'd go with regular old Elmer's glue, or Crazy Glue, spread thin and evenly. Get a large enough surface area, and you'll have a decent bond.

Hot glue would work, too, as long as it's not too hot.

@monkeytroll I think a lot of that is out of my skill range so I'm going to disregard turning it into a cruise ship (though that would be amazing and hilarious at the same time) and probably just put a couple of ork battlewagon para-scopes in there. along with a large radar dish.

You mean mine or his?

And not really, if you look at the compatative sizes on the green scale chart, the landa is smaller than s gargant.

I was just looking through the list again and noticed that Junka was added to the list. Would that happen to be the mekboy junka that forgeworld made rules for? if so put me down for that too I've been meaning to get to work on mine and this seems like a good incentive.
