Flower Picking Eldar Youth

New York City

Howdy Y'all,

The name's Atalay, I'm a Master of Architecture student at Parsons School of Design in New York City. I haven't played 40k for almost ten years, so it's been a while, but while I was wandering around Greenwich village a few weeks ago I stumbled across the Games Workshop there and it reminded me of all the glorious tabletop victories (and defeats) of my youth. Ahhh, nostalgia....

Back in the day I played Eldar, Orks, and Imperial guard, (about 4000/4000/1500 pts respectively) and also occasionally rocked the Gorkamorka and Battlefleet Gothic with my old high school buddies. It was 3rd edition when I stopped playing for one reason or another, and my Wraithlords crushed my little brother's orks so much that he swore never to battle me again. I used to read the Dakka forums constantly and the advice drove me to victory in many battles and a few local tournaments, so I'm very thankful for this website. Now, it's 5th edition, it seems like things have changed for the better, and I want to get back into the game... maybe because I'm in a sentimental mood, or maybe because I want to make use of all the building models I've been making in my architecture classes that are just collecting dust on my shelf. Maybe it's just spring and I want a distraction from all my school work.

Anyways, I just got ahold of my old Armageddon Steel Legion IG army (the Eldar and Orks are back at my parent's home in Toronto). Anyone in the NYC area wanna rumble? I don't know of any gaming clubs here - it's Manhattan and space is real tight - but the local GW in the village seems to have a good community going on. If any of you are around here, do let me know the deal, and lets meet up for a game. It's good to be back to the future of the 41st millennium and I look forward to chatting with ya'll

cheers
-Atalay

Hello and welcome to Dakka. The GW store is probably your best bet for gaming right now. You should post in the Find A Game forum to find more gamers and stores in your area.
