but forgeworld is a subsidiary of GW, and thus in it's own right, they're GW models as well :p
For codex models though, I'd say an Ogryn squad is up there in the expensive $/pts models, especially for a full squad

In terms of real cash amount, maybe one of the metal miniature IG regiments? Something like Steel Legion? Although, the cost pales in comparison to an Elysian or Death Corps resin army

I am still in awe at the price of the Tau mantas. Get them hand-carved and they'd be cheaper... Automatically Appended Next Post: quote from the description of the manta on the FW website: The kit includes two Devilfish, two Hammerheads, eight Battlesuits, six Gun Drones
about 400$ of add ons, maybe a bit more. Still outrageous though. I do have to say though: it is the single largest model ever created by CM, FW GW whatevr.

I heard a bit of buzz that typically they sell 2 or 3 at a time because guys justify it as 'if I'm slinging this much money on something this ridiculous, I may as well get a couple.'

Yes but think about the thrill of having a model much, much too large to put in your backpack. When you show the people at your FLGS they'd be like "nice kite" and you'd be like "it has 16 guns on it bitch"

This.
The RRP of my Wraithguard army is somewhere in the region of 350 quid for about 40 models?
The ACTUAL paid price was somewhat less - god bless Ebay!!!
Plus, the suckers are 35 points each! and a troops choice squad is nearly 400 points! Sheesh!

While this is true, most of the superheavies and titans which would qualify as a default Moswt Expensive are not game legal, except when allowed in Apoc

There was a Tau painting log on Warseer that had, IIRC, a Manta and a pair of Tigersharks in it. They were done via commision, and had some awsome nebula and constellation art airbrushed onto them. Automatically Appended Next Post: AvatarForm wrote:While this is true, most of the superheavies and titans which would qualify as a default Moswt Expensive are not game legal, except when allowed in Apoc
Imperial Armour stuff is as legal as Codex stuff, and all those models have rules for allowing them in non- Apoc scale games of 40k. Granted, they're still super heavy or gargantuan and are taken as a separate detachment, and thus cannot be in games smaller than 2000 points, but they are quite legal outside of Apocalypse.

IIRC it technically becomes Apoc at 2500, but I may have the number mistaken...
