I played 40k until mid 2nd edition and then going to college trumped all. So I sold by Eldar army (2700 ish points), but kept my Ultramarines and got my degree in History education
Now, 13 years later... I've stayed up on the universe, watched the models coming through GW and I suddenly have 8 students in my history through board games club wanting to start playing 40k again (this was last year). I helped a student build a solid SM army and then he promptly left the state, giving it to me... My little club owns a solid Tau and Ork base for new players (technically my armies), plus I let anyone use my massive (and now updated) SM pool. We already have 2 IG, 2 SM, 1 Eldar, 1 GK and 2 Ork players... plus about 4 other members of the club that play other games (mainly Axis and Allies minis) and about 3 semi-regular fans of the club... so we're growing very quickly
...so, short story long... I decided to plug myself back into the 40k community. I had been frequenting Honline and 3++, but too often information and links have me lurking here, so I decided to take the plunge and join Dakka Dakka

Our principal has a degree in theology and does online gaming as a hobby... so we're a little unconventional in our extra curricular activities.
For example, I'm an ex tennis and football coach who now runs the table top gaming club and helps coach scholastic bowl.
