I am running two squads in a 500 pt list with my space marines and I was wondering which special weapons i should take in each squad

I am only running one rhino and two squads with a ml in this list and I only have one physical model of each special weapon and i was wondering which i should have and which should be in the rhino

This list will be used in a campaign with space wolves, tau, eldar, dark eldar, and another I can not recall.

why am i sticky and naked did i miss something fun

I'd run one flamer and one melta, prob melta in the rhino but idk. i havnt had much luck with plasma gun, i'd rather pop a transport or flame some guys rather than have a chance at possibly insta killing marines who aren't in cover

I would run Melta and Plasma, personally. The Melta would probably be best off in the Rhino, as it's the weapon that needs to be closer in order to function properly. Flamers can be good against the likes of Eldar and Dark Eldar, but they only come into their own against AS 4+ or better opponents if you're able to run them in a large volume.

This.

Melta needs to be clsoe for tank busting, while the plasma with its AP2 should be firing on things like termies....which you shouldn't be close to

Vs horde always choose the flamer otherwise ^^ the plasma and melta with the melta shooting from the rhino top hatch.

Plasma is also quite good at popping rhinos, it's a good all round weapon even at 500 pts.

I like plasma guns for their fluff effect. I like reciting a short litany while preparing to roll to hit.

Meltas are good vs. termies as well, but shorter range, obviously.

I'd say melta in rhino, plasma not in the rhino.

Plasma hates me except on mephiston haha but ya I always explode with plasma on normal marines and its not an assault weapon.

Plasma weapons, definately worth it.

I would say a flamer then either a melta or plasma, with the shortest ranged gun in the rhino.

A melta can kill troops as effectively as a plamsa even if it does only shoot once, and its better at busting tanks, so I would probably go for melta and flamer

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space.

The flamer and melta combo might work. They're both short range, but different roles. They are however assault weapons. The good thing about the flamers is that they ignore cover. In 5th, that's a big deal.

Plasma has the option of firing at range, which is nice. I've aced many a razorback with that little trick.

the only advantage the plasma has over the melta is that it has longer range (sometimes) and can fire 2 shots. I would do melta and flamer. Flamer is pretty obvious why its good. The melta is also able to insta gib marines. Plasma doesn't.

Flamer and melta. Plasma is an expensive luxury. It can take out light vehicles and it can be used to hurt terminator etc. Melta work the same on termies though with only one shot per turn and they can kill tanks. Take the melta and a flamer in your other unit. That way you can deal with hordes too.

My only fear is that the Tau list I'm playing against has a Broadside, so Rhino = mincemeat.
