Nope. Never heard of this, very much doubt it's the Finecast.

You might be suffering a reaction to the superglue fumes - some people are more sensitive to it than others. Try acquiring some form of ventilation; either open a window or get a fan and see if that makes a difference.

If you are making reference to the finecast being made of resin, it's a hybrid of plastic and resin, so even when using a file (You probably should be using it to file anything) you don't have to wear a mouth mask. The hybrid is 100% safe

If you will not Serve on the battlefield, you will serve on the firing line

No *dust* is 100% safe.

ALL dusts are irritants. Not just chemically toxic or allergens. They ALL irritate the lungs should they get that far - even talc and flour.

Still, since it requires superglue to bond the bits, you really should be doing that in a well ventilated area as the fumes from CA adhesives ARE also a well-know lung irritant.

Personally, I always wear eye-protection when supergluing (I've had superglue in the eye and it is not pleasant and i would rather not do it again).

Sigh.. No metal, plastic or resin particles are good for you to inhale... avoid them if you care about your health, don't if you don't... but please avoid posting stuff like this on a hobby full of teens and uninformed people who have no clue about the measures you have to apply to keep you and others safe.

That's the super glue.
You won't feel it when the Resin kills you.

You will probably die of a heartattack when you see how much an army built with finecast is going to cost you long before the resin or glue does you in...

The fumes from superglue can make my eyes burn from time to time. The GW plastic Glue makes me sneeze something fierce.

Super glue (and plastic glue) can cause that as stated, plus it could be seasonal allergies, it is that time of the year, and they can develop randomly.

The resin CAN cause that, as it could be an allergic reactions, but not when 100% cured (theoretically it should harmless like plastic). To get a reaction from it, you pretty much have to be exposed to it to the point where you are working in the factory that handles the raw materials and basically be breathing fumes. The business I work in the lab for (making polyurethanes, but the basic idea and materials are essentially the same), has had a few people develop an allergy to the product before mixed. Anything from a rash, to the throat swelling up and making breathing hard.

Sure can. It's the reason a lot of stores will ask for ID if you're buying more than a tube or so at a time (been there, done that).

I haven't had any problems with superglue. I haven't been filing, but I have been scrapping the models with a hobby knife (small difference I know). It has happened both times I've built finecast more than a week apart and appeared whilst doing it.

The superglue could be sending off different fumes when bnding the resin, which would account for why it is only happening when using resin.

Try adding superglue to a spare bit of sprue and holding it in the "modeling position" to see if it makes your eyes itchy.

True.

Not many people realise that superglue gets hot as it cures (rather like the quickset - 5 minute - epoxies also do).
With enough superglue on the right substance you can actually get a fire to ignite - by itself.

On plastics, this normal exothermic reaction will liberate some small quantity of volatiles (smell of melty plastic).

On resins, it will liberate different chemicals due to the different chemical makeup of a resin over plastic.

Or you could be filing/sanding the finecast, and then blowing the dust off, causing the dust to be dispersed into the air where it can be blown into your eyes and mouth?

Pretty much the same as sanding/filing any material and blowing the resultant dust off
