It's not very often that I post pics of my painted models.
Back in Dec. of 2009, I posted pics of a stalker Wraithlord I had converted:

I put him on a scenic base in order to make him about as tall as a standing Wraithlord:

Well, I finally got around to getting him painted. Here he is:
I made the weapons (B. Lance, EML, Shuri-Cat), hands, wrists, and weapon mounts magnetized so I could swap him for either a close combat role or a gun platform role.

With one hand and Shuri-cat. This is the gun platform version. Alas, the B. Lance and EML are at my FLGS in a display case with another of my Wraithlords:

As a close combat stalker with his sword and fist (and Shuri-cat):

I used many, many layers of blending progressively lighter blues for my main highlights. Unfortunately, with my poopy camera, I have little control over the focus or white balance, so the highlighting really drowns out. It looks more like an actual highlight from the lamp outside of my light box. It is not. In reality, there's no glare from the lights on the model at all. What little highlighting you can see in the pics is painted via blending. That thread with the wet palette questions really helped me out here. Anyway, here's a few closeups of some of the blended highlights:

For the record, the camera made parts of the model look really yellow. They are not. They're progressively lightened Bubonic Brown. The lightest part of the wraithsword is about the same hue as Bleached Bone.
Thanks for looking.
C&C welcomed!

Very cool indeed.
The head reminds me of this chocolate, though

I dig the pose and haha chocolate bar haha.

The only thing is the pistol looks well out of place maybe it just seems to small and dosnt really fit in all to well maybe change that up for a sword or something possibly.

This model looks nice and has a good paint job

Under the couch

Very nicely done.

Only real criticism would be that the feet should be bent, so that he is perched on the balls rather than flat-footed.

Otherwise, great work on the posing, and a really striking paintjob.

You blew my mind with those gradients. Possibly some of the smoothest transitions I've seen. I love the head too, and I don't think it looks much like a milky bar wrapper. The stars are completely different, even if the colors are the same. Amazing work.

Thanks for the reply, Cowpow, but I'm not sure what you're saying. That pistol and hand are straight off the sprue. It is specifically meant to go on that model. Plus, if I added a sword, he'd have two swords. I'm trying to keep this model wysiwyg for games.

Insaniak, if you look closely, his right foot's heel is off the ground. Before building him, I actually tried out poses myself to try and capture as much realism as I could. Before anchoring him to the base, he would actually balance on both feet with and without weapons. If you look at his legs, the left knee is up higher than the right and his left foot is further forward than the right. That means that his weight is mostly on his left foot and his lower leg is closer to to being vertical. This would force you to roll to the ball of your right foot, but not as extremely as you might think. I used the bent foot that comes stock with the kit and, based on my pose testing, I didn't see a need to alter it any further.

My real focal point was trying to get the knees and slant of the torso just right so as to make him look like he's stalking prey through the ruins and ready to spring at a moment's notice.

The only problem I can see is that you may want to close up some of the holes that you normally put shuriken catapults and the like in. Your choice though, other than that looks great.

That basing makes me all moist in my pantaloons.

The only complaint I have about the painting is that the stars make it look like he is hunting baby Jesus.

Epic. I love it!

The starry field is the overall detailing motif for my army:

NOVATAR (this is about an 8 year old model):

WARLOCK (also old. Maybe 6 years?):

W.I.P. WAVE SERPENT:

It has magnetized weapons/turret so I can freely swap loadouts between various Wave Serpents.

I try to fade the colors so that you can't see the precise transition points.
