I want to send someone a link that opens this page and scrolls down to the post where I blogged painting Old One Eye, kind of like when you click on 'first unread' on a subscribed thread. Is there any way to find out a post's number and get a URL for it? (This feature is easily accessible on livejournal and I've found it very useful.)

Yeah, mods do this when you get banned. "Hi, samus_aran115, your post at (blahblah) has been identified by a moderator as being 'spam'. Here at dakkadakka, we like to keep our servers clean of the stupid crap you post"
When you click the link it goes right to the post. Don't know exactly how it works though.

When you click the link it goes right to the post. Don't know exactly how it works though.

I did that by clicking on your profile, clicking on posts by you then looking down for this one and clicking "go to message".
Bit long-winded, but it worked.

If you look on the left hand side, just above the users Avatar, there is a little yellow page icon next to the date/time stamp. Click that and the URL in your browser will change slightly. This is now a direct URL to that post which you can then copy/paste.
