I took a short break on my Red Hunters project to try out my first finecast miniature. Abaddon was the perfect choice as I always wanted to try him out and the details on the finecast model just looked amazing ...

Added some pictures of my Abaddon shot from other angles ...

That looks very good! Did you have any miscast issues?

Just a small one ... on the banner trophy is a spiked space marine helmet which looked as if a small part was missing. I did not consider it a problem as the helmet should look battered anyway.

On close inspection that's a really, really tight paintjob there, not a brush stroke out of place! Probably the best Abbadon paintjob I've seen to be honest, top stuff!

Looks great, the green robes add a nice contrast. Fist bump for a fellow Red Hunters player who also plays Black Legion!

TBH I am not a player, just a painter. I chose the same color for the robes as the Eavy Metal team of GW did ... because I really had no clue what other color would fit ;-)

Well, just two layers of black and no shading ... I like black :-)

Yes ... I should not have used the auto-adjusting of images from Dakka because it made the model look even brighter ...

That's really cool. Very nice paint-job.

As for the photo itself: Use a pure white back-ground, no flash, then open the photo with http://pixlr.com/editor and use Auto Levels in the Adjustments dropdown. Then if you need to, play around with contrast and the other tools in the same dropdown menu. Unless you have a new version of photoshop, that is. If you do, just use the Auto tools in the Image dropdown.

Yeah, I always wanted to paint him but then I looked at the metal figure in the blister and always decided to postpone this. Finecast is different because you can see the details so much better. But we all know there are negative aspects as well ...

In reference to the old metal model, on which the arms would ALWAYS fall off. Always. oh apocalypse games, thou art my bane. or at least that of my models.

In reference to the arms joke i just have to say... guard the topknot, spiky bits and the sword like no tomorrow... finecast is more fragile the metal.

But great painting job and i really like how bright the trim is, really pulls out the model and sort of makers it pop.
