So not too much background here, I'm building a Lustria themed skaven army. So far all I've got is the IoB set and a box of stormvermin which are assembled.
Next I'm going get a battalion and a abomination. Haven't done any major conversions so far but I'm planning to do a complete over hall on the older rat ogres as i hate their look. Also not too soon, i'll be making a Lustria game board. Because its a tiny army i won't be including any storm of magic monsters any time soon. As for the little background that i have made here it is. The Warlord clan Shryke was driven from skaven blight after they "accidentially" tried to collapse one of clan skyres larger warpforges. they established a base of operations in lustria to try and learn some of the more powerful secrets of magic form the slann. do to the incedent with clan skyre, the few warmachines that they do own come from clan ektric. they have trained a few of their own master moulders and have experimented on kroxigor to try and mesh them with rat orgres.
so thats about it for now so on with the pictures!

Ok so I've started on some terrian and forgot to post of Ragnak himself so here he is


and here is a looted lizard man temple with a large chunk of warp stone powering a nefarios machine

some simple walls

and a pillar which will have some lizard man glyphs on it

Do to the fact that I'm bored i did decide to post again tonight so here are some clanrats i just based,

and I've decided to magnetize my stormvermin and because the IOB warlord is so top heavy I had to add a much larger magnet too

Looking good. I like the bright blues you have in your paint shceme.
If you wanted to make your bases more "jungle" like, think about getting some aquarium plants and cutting them down to make it look like your units are moving through some tall grass/ferns/other palnts.
I've seen a LM army done that way, and it looked awesome.

I agree with Cricket on both points: I love the blues (most skaven armies are pretty dark, so it's a nice change) and more work on the bases would not be amiss.

Yeah I'm looking for aquarium plants that are small enough for their bases because right now it looks like the're in a desert

Think about unit fillers- ogre sized stands with a scene going on that counts as 4 models or so. This way you could add ruins and plants and make each unit have a mini diorama in it. Great work, and on a side note.. how much did the blue foam cost?

Wow thanks guy i might use that mini diorama idea. The recipe for the blue is quite simple: basecoat hawk turquoise wash badab black and them high light a 1:1 of white and hawk turquoise. Thanks for the motivation as well, i'll update again some tonight!

Oh sorry forgot about the foam I actually got it from my dads shop but my friend got some and a large sheet like 6' by 4' for like 20 bucks but I'll have to ask him where he got it.

So i did manage to get some flock and aquarium plants (just got in before the store closed!) any ways, some time tonight I'll post pics of my army fully based but for now I'll show you some more terrain!
Also picked this up at the pet store with a coat of paint and some plants its gonna look great

This one just needs paint already got some plants on it!

Wow. Your work is fantastic. Makes my rats look very boring as they're all uniform in color. Unfortunately for me, painting too many colors boggles my mind. Sad, no?

Yeah i chose three colors so the troops wouldn't have a set uniform and i guess i chose bright colors because its so different.
Alright got 5 clanrats done trying to get 1 more done tonight and I'll post pics as soon as i can.
I also finished the last piece of fish tank.... terrain..... stuff. what ever you get the point, here it is

so i lost my camera . i guess I'll show you my progress when i find it. I got another 2 clanrats painted, finished basing the 20 painted ones so it looks like they're in a jungle. I'm also close to finishing the warlock engineer. I painted him in the clan ectrik colors so it fits in with the fluff.

I finally found my camera! It was hidden deep inside the depths of the couch. any ways while it was gone i continued work on the clan rats and i finished my warlock engineer but i can't come up with any names. Have any ideas?

so that's it for now but when I'm done this clawpack I'll start on the warpfire thrower. I'm also gonna buy a set of skinks and use them as slave and give their shields to my stormvermin.

I've just started a Skaven army myself. Went to my flgs got curious at the Island of Blood set so the red shirt (Seb) gave me a game... and was I lucky on dice rolls , High Elfs completely decimated ... not before that griffon ripped apart a single squad on its own . Anyway, I'll be watching this one closely. Loving the terrain.

haha nice i've thought of skaven snorting warpstone powder before. but i just had an idea. since both of his eyes are covered he shall be called skritt no eyes, but he never tells his employers that he's blind as this could be bad for buisness. And I've fully based my entire painted army.

Next in the step by step posts is the shield, then the base, then it's done!

shield basecoat: I didn't use citadel colors for this the actual brand is folk art and the color is maple syrup. the closest thing in citadel colors would be something like a 1:1 mix of calthan brown and scorched brown.

shield drybrush: 1:1 of maple syrup & white

shield wash: for the darker panel delvan mud, the light panel a very watered down goblin green
