You know, I was worried about whether or not anyone would see that it was clump foliage. My wife didn't know what it was at first so I was kinda worried. T-minus 1.5 hours til Walking Dead! Sorry you will miss it, I am sure it will be on your TV soon.

Thanks for the comments and keep um coming

Hey man , this terrain is looking good to me , the shrine of aquilia looks cool how long did it take you to make it , and also where did you get the dead termie body from i think it would suit a city booby trap objective or something along those lines.

Good work so far ~UnDeAd~

Thanks for the comment The Shrine Of Aquila took about 7 hours start to finish, it was a labor of love. The dead termie is from Space Hulk http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&expIds=17259,25639,25907,26637,26649,27156,27284,27357&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=space+hulk&cp=11&client=firefox-a&hs=bdz&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=11810382504058964918&ei=cAPPTLLuPMK88gbZnpzrAQ&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=1&sqi=2&ved=0CD4Q8wIwAA#

Hey it looks great together, you guys are such teasers only revealing altogether shots at the end.....grrr

your fountain will look good in between all that, and speaking of fountains yours has inspired me to hoard profiterole bases yum! i think these look pretty convincing as a fountain , with a statue on top and water spouts. now i have a real excuse to eat chocolate and cream buns. not that i needed one
]

your layout got me thinking , have you tried making a a big flat area for your buildings to rest on, i made mine from the back of old set of draws, just coverd it in textured paint , if you can get something similar and dont mind getting dirty its a fairly simple job, though the thinner it is the more it will warp
maybe a road system inbetween ,used old cardboard boxes, and there pretty interchangeable . could post a template if you required

I would love to make booby traps and the like, but alas I will wait until I am all finished the city before making them. I did use the altar in a game this past weekend as an objective

I was thinking about these http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Warhammer_40,000_Terrain/CITIES-OF-DEATH-BOOBY-TRAPS.html and these http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Warhammer_40,000_Terrain/IMPERIAL-LANDMINES.html

What do you use for objectives?

Thanks for the comments and keep um coming,

Hi madmartykmf ,

I think that the Forgeworld booby traps would go nicely with your board , however i dont really think that the imperial landmines really work but that would depend on what type of them you want to achieve from your board.

Personally i like to make my own booby trap style stratagems. I made one before where i had a IG commander in a chair a little like the dead termie but with ankle and neck chain connected to a landmine which i found in one of the ork tankbusters sprue i think this looked really good as a terrain peice if not used as a stratagem in some way.

I also remember one where i had a urban style catachan figure traped in GW barbed wire on the floor as if he had been pulled into it by a tripwire that is in the ground close by.

I hope this helps but all i can really say with booby traps / objectives , is to be inventive think of some of the things they would use in the 40k universe.

Hope that this helps and i cannot wait to see more of your terrain peices.

Cheers Paul.

95% of teens would go into a panic attack if the jonas brothers were about to jump off the empire state building, copy and paste this if you are the 5% who would pull up a lawn chair & grab some popcorn and yell JUMP!!!!!
Inquiring minds want to know: Do cos-players carry a costume version of the emergency roadside kit we all have in our cars?

In relation to booby traps, to my mind the city would have been defended by the people who lived there, so there would be plenty of "home made" devices - car batteries wired to door bombs, etc. Lots of really hodge-bodged stuff left over and rusting when the people there were either killed or ran away.

These are now a danger to Imperail units retaking the long abandoned area as well as whatever forces they are fighting against

Those sound pretty cool. I have never really given any thought to booby traps til your post. I am kind of excited to see what I can put together Thanks for the input!

You know I have a Leman Russ that I dont "need". I am kind of thinking about destroying it and have it look as though IG were defending the position around it! Sucks that a $50 kit has to be destroyed but it sure will be cool Know can I bring myself to do it? Ugh, seems like such a waste! I also love the idea of car batteries and bombs attached to doors. Consider that idea officially pilfered

No No No No , dont destroy the leman Russ i love them been wanting one for ages trade me it for a landspeeder or assault marines or something , but on a serious note it would be great to see what you come up with for the booby traps it is always great to see other peoples ideas as they can inspire you for some of your ideas too.

DO you have any plans for upcoming buildings that will be added to the city or certain types of terain ? , be good to see more work , thanks for the updates.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

If you feel like it, perhaps a Russ that drove through the corner of a building before stopping/being destroyed? Now burnt out, rusting and covered in brick dust with the building crumbling around it? Looks cool in my mind anyway

Though I too would be loathe to destroy a perfectly good kit if you have then chance not to

If you have a wrecked kit, go for it though.

Sounds like a good idea to me Silver , i wouldent be able to approve a Leman Russ being destroyed , where as if the Russ was ok and the building was destroyed then it would be another story.

If you feel as if you do want to swap it for another vechile stop it being wasted as it is a good kit i can always offer you a fair trade , but it is very much in your hands.

Another idea i thought would be cool for this city would be to maby have small corpse piles in corners of certain buildings. Just an idea but one that i think may work really well.

Hope to hear from you soon with more updates

What do you to trade? PM me
My next building will be a "park" of sorts. I will be using the fountain that I just got and adding benches with statues of heros surrounding the outside. I will probably be starting it in a few weeks!

I know SilverMK2, that is the problem. I see the same thing in my head just not sure if I want to bust that kit up. I am planning a Pegasus hobbies building http://cgi.ebay.com/Terrain-Scenery-Wargame-Pegasus-Gothic-City-Building-/290339023561?pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item43998deac9 that would look great with a Leman Russ bulldozed though it! I am getting one of these for X-Mas

Sorry for the lack of updates, I have been working a ton because of Christmas. I am hoping to hit the bench soon to finish up the graveyard. Also I WILL be destroying the leman russ for my next project. Don't cry I have found a hook up at a warhammer 40k retailer. Big savings for me! It may be slow but I promise updates as soon as possible.

Thanks as always everyone,
