OK, well, I figure this is as good a place as any to start updates on what I'm doing next.

2 more Female Commissars! I have been commissioned to make 2 more, and I have the concepts for them below.

And I have a "little" bit of progress to show. I am afraid I won't be getting too much more progress on these for about a week or so, I'm heading out to go hunting on Saturday, and won't be back for 5 days or so.

I know they don't look like much yet. But stick with me, if you followed the first one, you know it took a while to look like anything.

I will be doing the arms separate from the bdoy so the arms will be poseable to a degree.

On the #2 model, I'll be building a small wall for her to step on, not sure yet if it should be a rock or brick wall...or how I'll make it for that matter.

I haven't drawn the faces on the concepts, because I already have the heads I want to use. They will be these 2 faces from Hasslefree (shown below). So let me know what you think so far.

As always, I will be open to C&C, but only to a certain degree on this one, final say will be from the person who commissioned the work.

Yeah center head is angry, one immediately to the right I think looks stern another good look for a commissar.

I don't know Jake, I think those new models look pretty dang good already! I'd say just glue those heads on and get to painting! Great work.

Thanks guys!

@dsteingass - Nope, don't want to get them mixed up! Also, it will be easier for input...for example "#1's left boob is a little small" instead of "the one in the second picture of your last post...you know the one with the legs? Her boob is a little small" I don't know if that would ever happen, I'm just over-thinking things again.

@Viktor von Domm - Thanks! I was told to use those 2 heads, but it will be a while before I get to that point, so he might change his mind.

@shasolenzabi - Yeah, the center is a bit more stern. but any heads not used for this project will be used for my female soldiers...so it will show up somewhere! Also, I got the other sprue of female heads from Hasslefree too, but I guess he didn't like any of those.

I think the one on the right will be the plasma gunner!

@Wehrkind - Thanks! Yeah, I might get around to adding more to them after I get packed for my hunting trip, but I'm not holding my breath.

@Depraved - Thanks! I hope I don't dissapoint! I'm hoping to have both of these done by Christmas, but you'll have to talk to my daughters so they leave me alone long enough to get some work done!

@NakedBatBoy - Thanks! Talk to Wehrkind, he's not a fan of the paperclip look! And here I wanted to go for a Minimalist Army!

That is a ruddy fantastic sculpt! You did it really well and the thing i love most about the model has to be the boots, the crinkles show up well etcetc and it's so classically 40k.

I wish I could get the house to myself for a whole weekend! But I am getting the next best thing, and that is for ME to get out of the house for 5 days, to go hunting. Unfortunately, there will be no getting work done during this!

And those are my sketches after a few rough concepts that I had the customer critique. And thanks! I love to draw, always have. Now I make itty bitty staues! Actually, if I had known sculpting was this much fun, I would have started it YEARS ago!

I used to draw a lot, now that I have started sculpting I have started up again. It helps so much to have a visual aid while sculpting. I made measurements of a grot and made a generic wire frame sketch. Every time I sketch a pose I refer to this to keep the proportions right.

Care to share the grot sketch? Or is it IP?

I have made some sketches of grots, but nothing fancy. After the commissars, and then after the female soldiers, but before the female navigator, I plan on making a multi-part grot model. Similar to your cyber-gort concept, but no cyber parts. I want to make an IG based grot army some day. I think it would be so cool!

When I get home today I will post my sketches up. I am very interested to see some grots from you. I also have some non-cyber grots in the early stages.

Indeed, sketching is the best way to start a new conversion. I also have a bunch of scetches for my future projects.

And this Comissars looks promising! I'm sure they come out even better than the first one.

Hey! I'm back! I got one 4 point buck (over here that's 4 points on each side of the rack), and had a great time. Over the weekend I got some time to work on the models.

First up is Commissar #1, She is just about to where I want her body-wise, and at this point I am thinking of sending her off to get resin casts made of her, so I won't have to re-create this pose and just add the things I want from this point. Kind of like a save button.

I'm leaving the breasts off for now, so that I can add different sizes as the situation calls for.

I know her booty is a bit big, but I can always shave it down a bit, and it will be covered by a coat.

I don't have as much done on Commissar #2, but here is where she is at the moment.

I am also making generic female soldiers, and here is where they are right now. If you want to see the begining stage of the soldier, please visit my gallery.

It's hard to see the soldier's breasts, but they are on there, and they are kind of small. I didn't realize you could hardly them, I'll get better pictures later.

So, that's it for now, let me know what you think. Thanks for looking!

...
you always come up with such phrases and when i respond ot them accordingly i am the pervert... lol...

the knees for some reason look very good on the 1# commissar... and the generic female soldier looks good... from what i could see the leg is looking very good and so does the boot...it will be very interrsting to see how this might turn out ...
