Job well done. From a rather, er... humble beginning she came together amazingly well. It's not perfect (I think she could have done with slightly shortened wrists and neck, for example), but the end result is something that you should definitely be proud of.

Kudos to you for being so receptive to criticism along the way. This thread is an awesome example of how feedback can help someone improve if they take keep an open mind to it.

@ insaniak - Thanks! Yes, she is not perfect, but you have to stop somewhere, right? I would still be fixing little things here and there if I didn't just say, we'll that's good enough for now. But I do plan several more female commissars! 2 for commission, and one that I plan on being multi-part, and somewhat posable. So there is much room and opportunity for improvement! And yes, I ALWAYS appreciate critiques, so bring them on!

They generally keep the third eye covered when they're not navigating.

Navigators look like regular humans, with a third, jet-black eye in the middle of their forehead.

Doesn't Rogue Trader suggest that navigators have all sorts of mutations as well?

Ok, yea pg 182 of the Rogue Trader book says that pretty much all navigators have some manner of mutation, and has a handy table for ideas if you are looking for inspiration.

(Plus, the RT books are freaking great anyway, so worth owning )

Yea, they are tolerated, but they definitely look different, even if it is fairly subtle. More subtle than an extra eye in the middle of their head at least

I have started on my two commissioned Female Commissars already, I really need to get some pictures taken so you can see the initial stages, maybe tonight.

So, I have a question for you all: Should I make a new thread? Or just add to this one, and edit the title to say "Female Commissar commission blog: starts on page 7", or something like that?

Also, @gendoikari87, is that for an alternate commissar? Or navigator? Either way, it's a great model.

Now that I am done with my commissar, I have seen at least 4 other models that I could have used. But I am now planning a bunch of projects that I never would have attempted before. So it's definately been worth it.

I have these next 2 commissars planned, a multi-part female soldier that I have talked about before, and I also want to do a multi-part grot sculpt, that can be assembled and posed similar to IG troopers. I know Depraved is doing something similar, but for Cyber-Gorts, I want to make a kit for plain grots. Different heads, a couple of different torsos, and lots of different arms and legs, to make a grot army at some point.

All of these, I am/will be looking into getting them cast in resin. I would just LOVE to have an army of grots that I sculpted myslef!

it's the model i use as a commissar, Bolt pistol power weapon. She's got something tucked away in her sleeve/jacket I just call it a sollex energy blade.... AKA lightsaber.

as my IG army is a spetznaz inspired one I simply GS sculpted a red beret on her.
